Long story short, in North Carolina grandparents have no legal standing but can attach themselves to a lawsuit that is ongoing. I’m a recovering addict..have been clean 7ish years took my kids back from my mother, and filed for custody against my children’s father..my mom attached herself as a party due to the fact she did help me during my addiction with my kids..we’ve been fighting this nasty battle for YEARS, at this point the only ones fighting is me and my mother (kids dad has disappeared in his addiction) She’s asking people that I don’t even know me, or the situation (only her side and what she tells them) to come testify against me..is this even allowed? Or would this fall under hearsay. I am representing myself this go round (not the first time she’s come after us) as my last attorney cost is over $30,000.
