Underage Betting Mistake – What Can Be Done Now?

Hi, I’m posting this on behalf of a friend who’s too nervous to post himself. He’s 17 and recently got caught up in a mess with a betting site.

He created a Sportsbet account using his mum’s ID (without her knowing) because he’s underage and couldn’t verify himself. He then transferred money into the account using his own PayID (which has his name attached), made a $2000 bet, and won around $4600.

When he tried to withdraw the money to his mum’s bank account, the account got frozen. Customer support said they now need ID verification due to the mismatch between the deposit info and the account name.

Now he’s stuck. He’s scared to tell his mum what happened but doesn’t want to lose the money either. He doesn’t want to do anything illegal (like fake an ID), but doesn’t know what the safest next step is.

Has anyone been in a situation like this? What should he do? Is there any way to resolve this without making things worse?
