How to Go Back to Barber After Unsatisfactory Haircut?

r/

Or do we just take the haircut as is and hope for the best next time? Case in point – just went for mine and although much better than how I was going into it, it’s not as short as I want up top. I always understood that if I go back next day I’ll get charged again.

Go to someone else. See what they do. Rinse repeat.

Did you not see it before you left?

It’s not as though there weren’t mirrors everywhere or that barber didn’t ask if you were happy with it.

Don’t leave unsatisfied. If you do, that’s your fault. If I went back, I’d expect to pay again.

I’ve only ever needed a haircut to be fixed immediately one time, but I went to a different barber to get it fixed. I went to some chain place, can’t remember which one, and the woman was clearly letting her daughter “practice” on my hair. The woman knew it was terrible, didn’t charge me so I couldn’t get too mad. I just went to a locally owned place and said “Please fix this,” and they did. I didn’t have to deal with asking for a refund, fortunately.

Eat the bad haircut and vote with your wallet next time you go for a trim

General tip: once you find a barber you like keep going to the same one. You go from being an anonymous head to someone he likes. And his cuts will get better over time as he sees how you show up again since the last cut.

They can only cut so much. Best bet is to just find someone new. If you look chopped its a 100% their fault.

Two things i used to do before going bald.

    1. If at the end of the cut it is still lets say to long (or something else that can still be done) I’ll tell the barber before leaving the chair. Usually if they have time they’ll fix it.
    2. If I’m just unhappy about the skills of the barber i find a new one.

Did you not communicate with the barber to tell him what number to use with the clippers? I always have that communication with my barber. It is verbal, most barbers will not stop cutting your hair to answer a text message. You definitely need to give that a try because Unfortunately they are not able to read your mind yet.

You should never worry about a bad haircut, it will grow on you…

I usually speak up before I leave the chair. I’ve have to tell my hairdresser that they have cut a side crooked or the length isn’t right.

Don’t be afraid to tell them in the chair. If they are a good hairdresser they will try to make you happy. If they push back-don’t go back.

Depends on how invested you are in the barber. If hes done a good job a few times and this time he cooked it? Overall you still like the service maybe give them another chance.

Otherwise find a new one and take a chance, unsure of your location but generally they are dime a dozen.

This happened to me once. I didn’t realize until I got home how bad it was. I went back a day or two later and because it was a major chain that had me type in my phone number when I arrived, the person checking me in noticed that I had just been there a few days prior. They immediately knew and asked me if I need it fixed. No issue at all and free of charge.

Got my hair cut, it looked good but after I got home and took a shower, I noticed that the fade on the top part of my left side wasn’t in line with the opposite side. Went back after an hour and told him what happened. He took care of it and when I offered to pay at least part of it the barber declined. I go there regularly now and haven’t had an issue since.

If I was unhappy with a barber, I wouldn’t go back. I’d simply take my business elsewhere in the future.
