Compared to others I am quiet when it comes to “men stuff” I am just reserved and in my head a lot of the time.

I think and worry about how I’m raising/have raised my 2 sons, a lot. Like multiple time a day I evaluate in my head what’s going on with them and how I can help them make their current and future lives better. I stress about not being there if they need me, especially in a physical danger scenario. I worry about their futures, if they are doing what they think I’d want them to do or if it’s really what they want to do. Do they have good enough friends? Are they happy or just faking it? Will they find love? Will they find work when it comes time for that? Have they picked/will they pick the right career, and all that the word “right” means in that scenario? Etc. They’re my sons. It’s a constant thing that I’m not sure even my wife knows the extent of.

They are 19 and 15. People think I’m very laid back and I am about a lot of things, but not about things that matter. Nothing matters more than them.

It’s not something that ever comes up at work or among co-workers, but I’m fluent in ASL. My wife is hearing impaired, so. It sort of surprises people to find out, when she comes with me to social things.

I’ve never had a sandwich but I have had a cop get in the back of my car to chase a suspect.

I’ve been in a poly relationship for 5 years.

My wife and I were monogamous for the 5 years before that.

It always shocks people when I tell them.

My parents divorced when I was 10, my dad immediately moved in with a woman who quickly he wanted me to start calling her mom. I chose to live with my dad because he was staying in apartment which had a pool.

Things were ok at first but I was not able to give my mom the phone number or tell her what apartment we lived in. Had to use a payphone to call her if I wanted to talk to her.

My dad and his gf moved me across state lines with out telling my mom and after coming through my old home town’s airport, my mom was waiting with court orders and police to take me off the plane until a court date.

I quickly chose to live back with my mom.

There’s a lot more to this story.

First, don’t think i am unique.

I act way more stupid than i am (i think I’m not). Especially at work. Then i randomly show i am capable of doing something extremely complex that requires years of mastery.

I’m a fairly decent dancer in terms of dancing solo in the middle of a club type scenario

I look very nerdy serious in general like I would never go to such an event

I get genuinely pleasantly shocked reactions when I dance & a lot of people are even more shocked when they find out I don’t drink either

In 6’2” and 240 lbs. Most people, including my family (lots of history here), see me and think I’m dumb, mean and/or just an AH.

I have an IQ of 120 (tested) and care DEEPLY for those around me, including strangers. I honestly want everyone to be ok. Among other things, I’ve taken homeless people to dinner to hear their stories. Give $ to pet shelters and try to be the best human I can.

And I don’t believe in any god.

I am a pretty damn good heavy metal guitar player. I do lot look the part. Every once in a while it comes up, or I get a guitar in my hands in public. No one expects it.

I apparently have a great memory. Everybody I know is shocked when they find out how much I retain in my memory. I can recall specific moments from my years in school dating all the way back to kindergarten, I remember specific facial expressions people have made, I remember exact times I met someone, I can even remember specific noises I’ve heard in a specific situation. I never thought this was unique, but then so many of my friends have told me their memories are nowhere near that full with room to spare. But I’m actually quite hesitant to reveal some of this, because I worry I’ll say something to the wrong person and they’ll get creeped out by something I’ve said.
