I know every man is different. I have seen a post similar to this, asking what scents men preffer, and 90% of the responses was vanilla. I can’t stand vanilla personally. The smell gives me a headache, which actually sucks because almost all perfumes or body lotions for women always have vanilla undertones and it sticks out like a sore thumb to me. But I still want to smell good to men.
I’ve always been in love with rose scented things, but I’ve realized the hard way that not a whole lot of men like that smell either. I was told that my particularliy favourite parfum, Ange Ou Demon, scared some dudes away (no I do not drench myself in it, either.)
So, I, a female, wanted to ask you men what’s a good alternative to vanilla?

Gasoline.
Coconut works well and has a similar soft noted smell that isn’t overly floral or perfumey
Cucumber melon. Smells like the 90s
Cherry
The smell of a woman. It don’t matter what she’s wearing. Anything feminine smelling on a woman is 😍
My wife has one that smells like gingerbread. Angel I think. It’s wonderful.
As in perfume? I can’t imagine how awful vanilla scented perfume would be; to me it signals food, not humans. You should smell good to yourself and wear whatever you’re comfortable with.
On a woman? Something subtle and floral, but the type depends on the guy: might like rose but despise lavender, for example. A light berry or citrus can go over well as long as it doesn’t remind you of cleaning supplies.
Citrusy scents are usually reliable.
One of my exes had some kind of perfume that smelled like strawberries. Can’t remember the name, but that shit was amazing.
I think a lot of men like food scents… I love citrus.
Orange, pear, violet, sandalwood, spices
I prefer citrus to vanilla
I love woody smells like Cedar, Pine, Fir, etc.
Cinnamon, coffee, fresh baked bread
Sandalwood….or leather, iykyk
Patchouli.
Sandalwood. Tobacco. Bergamont
Cedar
Wood smoke on a cold wind
Fresh cut grass
I have a cologne that has rose in it. That being said, one of my favorite scents is cedar. I also love the smell of key limes.

I’m with you, I can’t stand vanilla. I like coffee.

The smell of freshly spent ammunition. In the army we called it ozone.
Non scented things
Lavender
Sandalwood or Lavender. I’m not sure how the two of those would work together. A lot of people like coconut but I despise it.
Whatever makes you feel comfortable.

Bergamot is in a lot of masculine edt’s and is a nice neutral alternative to vanilla.
I don’t want to be gross, so let’s just say that if you’re a woman, you have access to it
Balsam, rosewood, oak, sandalwood. The sound hole of an acoustic guitar.
Victoria’s Secret Strawberry Fizz lotion. I doubt they make it anymore, but it made me absolutely feral.

Strawberry. I hate vanilla perfumes.
I like lilac. It smells nice.
This is like asking what music you should listen to to impress a guy. Just be you.
Men go insane when I wear Lancome Idole, which has a definite rose note. The description also lists vanilla, but I don’t find it vanillic at all.
Rose is tough. Because when it gets old it stinks like rotten flowers. Because it decomposes.
Lavender is a much better scent. It is floral and simple and relaxing.
Chanel Coco is my favorite women’s scent (am a straight dude)
Cordite
Prob not for perfume but I(48m) love the smell of lavender.
Fecal scent is really sexy, makes you feel dirty and want to do the dirty deeds.
Cedar
Mint.

Just smell clean and whatever scents your hair products have, I guess. I have to like a woman’s natural scent. I don’t like perfumes.
Compared to vanilla nearly everything is better.
On women I prefer leather, amber or the more fresh mandarin.
Oud. I worked in Saudi Arabia for a little while, and every morning they would burn this in the office. It smells fantastic. Especially while you’re drinking Turkish coffee.
I have caramel scented hair putty. It’s awesome. Wife loves it.
WD-40
I absolutely love Cloe. Don’t know what they have in it. I love the smell of fresh ground starbucks coffee.
I would recommend picking a smell that either you like or you think best represents you. If a guy doesn’t like how you smell, then obviously that guy isn’t the right one. It’s an easy way to weed people out, maintain your happiness, and be yourself.
