I live in Oregon. I have a friend whose husband is a level 1 registered sex offender. He was convicted in another state for “indecent behavior with a juvenile”. Supposedly, he was 19 and she was 16 and the parents reported it as soon as he turned 19. He served time in jail and had to go through some treatment program and has been off probation for 3 years now, but still has a to register.
Anyhow, this guy has done some extremely creepy things, I would categorize as stalking. He has a sex and porn addiction as well. It came to light he assaulted his own sister a few months back. She is an adult and decided she does not want to report it because he apologized. There have been other instances of extremely weird behavior to two other moms and I’m not sure I buy that his felony was simply an age gap. I’m having trouble finding any details about this from the other state he was convicted in. I only found a mugshot where he is smiling and lists the charge.
His wife is coaching my kid’s sport team along with my husband and I’m entirely weirded out. Her husband comes to games and practices and other school events. Other kids stay the night at their house and have no idea.
I live in Oregon and they don’t publish information about sex offenders if they are a level 2 or 3. Can anyone tell me if there is somewhere I can call to ask if he has any limitations or restrictions on places he should be? I am extremely concerned for the safety of others as well as the safety of my friend and her kids. I’m not sure anything I’ve seen so far rises to a level of being illegal, so I’m not sure it’s even reportable. I have been trying to encourage my friend to report him but she isn’t going to and she said he’s not on probation as of 3 years ago he only has to register with the state yearly until it comes off his record. I just feel like this is such a big disclosure she shared with the situation with his sister that I’m having a really hard time with this.
