I’ve been both excited and nervous throughout this process, as this is something I’ve wanted to pursue since I was a kid.
Now, at 30, I’ve grown a lot in the past decade, and I’m mentally prepared for whatever comes my way.
I completed my polygraph about a week and a half ago, but I haven’t heard from a background investigator yet. I ranked 18th out of 253 applicants, which sounds solid.
When they present my file to the chief, will they include details like my martial arts achievements, education, clean criminal record, community work, bilingual abilities, and experience as a business owner? All of this is on my resume and social media, but I don’t often bring it up.
My biggest concern at the moment is my debt. I have about $5,000, spread across 4 collections. It’s mostly from things like an old gym contract, a water bill due to a leak, and a past cable bill from my early 20s.
I’m actively working to clear this up because financial health is important to me. My hope is that this doesn’t raise a red flag, as I know it could potentially be seen as financially irresponsible. However, I don’t have crippling debt or a history of gambling it’s more of a manageable issue that I’ve ignored. Just curious if this might cause any problems down the line.
