TLDR: 25F, never been in a relationship and scared to be in one. What are relationships actually like?
I’m 25 and a bit of a late bloomer and have never been in an official committed relationship.
I think I’ve only recently become secure enough to weed out people with nefarious intentions and no longer am coming at it from a place of needing validation but rather building a connection.
While I want to be in a relationship, I’m also terrified to be in one because I’m afraid I’ll lose any sense of freedom and autonomy and my needs will have to be second to my boyfriend’s.
I’ve also previously viewed romance as an emotional escape where extremely negative emotions don’t exist. Obviously this is not the case either and want a more realistic view of what relationships are actually like.
I want to overcome this fear of being in a relationship, so what is it actually like? Thank u
