I’m really worried and looking for advice. My close friend (we’re also business partners) traveled from Northern California (Menlo Park area) to LA a couple days ago to meet friends. She was supposed to fly out on July 16, and we haven’t heard from her since.
Her phone still rings normally and blue texts go through, but she hasn’t responded to me or any of her friends. It’s been over 2 full days, which is completely out of character. She usually checks in even during short flights or when she’s busy.
We’ve tried:
• Calling and texting (phone rings, no answer)
• Reaching out to hospitals and jails (no confirmed matches)
• Contacting her family (didn’t get much help)
• Checking flights but nothing confirmed
• Asking friends she was supposed to meet — they haven’t heard from her either
At this point I’m debating whether to file a missing person report, even though I’m not family. Her phone still being on makes it weirder — if she lost it, why hasn’t she reached out some other way?
Has anyone been in a situation like this or have any ideas what else to do? Any help or advice would mean a lot. I just want to make sure she’s okay.

You can still do this and if she is not missing but just wanting to go off grid then you will get confirmation with that
Go to your local police station with your notes, the chronology, and speak with the experts for advice and possible actions.
It might not hurt to report this.. but hopefully it’s not a waste of resources. Your concerns seem to make sense, but maybe she went to go re-invent herself in hollywood like so many others that go out there and do that. Some people sort of don’t want to be found.
