Employment with felonies.

r/

I am 23 years old and a felon. Wrong place at the wrong time type of situation. Now, i’m doing good but the fact that I cannot find a job is really beginning to put a damper on my life. Beginning to think the only way I can now survive and make any money is by doing illegal things which I know is only going to end up bad for me. Any advice is appreciated. thx xoxo

You fumbled once, don’t fumble twice. Hustle legal. Trades, temp gigs, remote work it ain’t over

    How about being self-employed?

Seeing as over 70% of inmates get arrested again within 5 years, over 80% for juvenile offenders, that seems to be the point.

Try finding jop postings where other felons got a job, a second chance type deal.
Or, you know, just become president, that guy also has 34 felony convictions.

You’re not your record, you’re the person who survived it. Don’t let a system that failed you once push you back into survival mode. Keep holding the line. You deserve a future.

Crime ain’t the comeback. Hustle legal. Keep pushin.

This is not the end it’s the fork in the road where most people turn back but you fight forward. The streets offer fast money but zero peace while legal grind builds freedom that actually lasts.

I guarantee you that your local ironworkers union is looking for people. Back breaking work but legal, they hire felons.

I’m 7 time felon. Forgeries and Burglaries. Doing despicable things to keep my addicted-self high. Been to prison 4 times and jail too many times to count. Those days are well behind me now. I used to go to businesses that were hiring and fill out their applications and I usually never hear back. Now my felonies are all over the 7 year mark. (In Wisconsin, if a felony is 7 years old, you don’t have to disclose it on the application) and things have gotten easier. My best advice, at least what worked for me, is using a temp service. They were able to get me in the door at some really good companies. Some of the same companies I’d applied at myself with no luck. If they get you a job somewhere and you find you don’t like it , just tell your recruiter and they will find something else for you. No marks for quitting, no bridges burned. If you get hired on thru a temp service and become an employee of that company, and keep good attendance and performance, you can try applying at other companies you’d like to work for. It’s easier to find a job if you have a job. If that makes sense. You’ll also have a good professional reference from you employer and the temp service.
