Location: IL. I went to the doctor on a friday for a job injury. Notified HR and they sent a a safety person from the company to the doctors office to have me fill out paper work. Saturday HR text me that she was drawing up a work restriction agreement since the doc put me on restrictions. Sunday she text not to come in Monday so they could figure out a job for me to do. Monday they called and fired me for not being a good fit. On the work comp paperwork they put they fired me for no show no call. I know I was fired for filing a work comp claim because why text me all that on the weekend and then give 2 different reasons for firing me. I don’t think I have enough to file a claim for retaliatory discharge but wanted to post here and ask?

NOT A LAWYER but If you have workers comp paperwork, and evidence of them telling you not to come to work, then seek legal council to dispute this.
You should consult an attorney. Unless there is some prior and ongoing record of your poor performance giving rise to this dismissal, it isn’t an enormous leap to see this as retaliation.
