My sister was diagnosed with the flu and covid in late March and then had strep and mono in mid-June. We think she has had the mono for a while. The strep went away with antibiotics. She said her throat was sore again today just a little, and I’m really hoping it goes away tomorrow and is nothing but I almost want the doctor to run some tests because this is like her 5th or 6th sore throat of the year. Am I being unreasonable?
My sister has had a sore throat every month and my parents don’t think it’s anything serious.

Yes. She my need her tonsils out if she’s chronically sick
How old is she?
Did she throw away her toothbrush when she started antibiotics? She can reinfect herself with strep if she didn’t, even with antibiotics.
New toothbrush, new bottle of mouthwash, new tube of toothpaste, new rinse cup. So many people forget to replace those after having an infection. Sanitize or replace her pillows.
This sounds like something that happened to me in college where I had swine flu (the milder cousin of covid in the early 2000s!) and then 2-3 rounds of strep that wouldn’t go away. Got diagnosed with antibiotic resistant strep and the solution presented was having my tonsils out. I used to get something that swelled my tonsils once a year before that like tonsillitis or strep and having them out was AMAZING.
