Neighbor shot into my apartment.

r/

Hi, a few months ago I was in my kitchen, my Husband was in kitchen partially also in front of our bar, anyway we have neighbors behind our kitchen wall, it’s the way the apartments are set up and my neighbors bf accidentally shot his gun into our apartment. It was about 2 feet high through the wall, then went down into the carpet, and out the other side of the carpet directly behind where my Husband was standing and then into our reclining couch where the bullet was found. We called the cops and it was reported right away. He wasn’t arrested but the gun was taken away and he is charged with criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon from the prosecutor. This is his first real charge as he only has another charge for expired plates. Anyway he goes to trial in September and I was wondering if anyone would think he will be charged or think it will go down to a misdemeanor. Location: Indiana.

Impossible to know. If he takes a plea deal the sentencing/charge will likely be reduced, especially since he is not a person convicted of many crimes. If he goes to trial it could go either way depending on the evidence that the prosecution has. Ultimately it’s up to a judge/jury and there is no way to predict the outcome
