Years ago I had a false postive on my drug test & my ER doctor wrote that I was high off amphetamines despite me never doing so. Is there anyway to ammend this?

Location: California & Nevada.

Got into an accident and I was not high on anything during the incident. I was given a drug test that I was not aware about at my hospital in California and was care flighted to a hospital in Nevada. The ICU doctor wrote on my report that I was high off of meth. I have and will continue to state I did not engage in any substance usage for anything higher than marijuana. I never had symptoms that I had been laced either. It bothers me that this is on my record and I would like it gone. I was also asked during military medical if I did engage in illegal substances and I said no. As I did not recall my false postive and I never did so anyway so am also paranoid about that. I was honest about everything else. Just wondering how possible it is to ammend this, and if it will cause me any trouble as well for enlisting?

A medical record? No sir. I had oodles of medical records about my asthma and then lied at MEPS. They don’t check that.
My bigger question is: you ready to give up weed?
The military can be mentally taxing, when I was in the corps, most were smoking spice. I ended up just smoking real weed in the barracks with a guy on restriction, lol.

No. There is absolutely no way to amend this especially if the test came back positive.

Under HIPAA, you have the right to request an amendment to correct incorrect information in your medical records. Your provider can choose to accept or deny your amendment request, but if they deny, they must afford you the opportunity to provide a statement of disagreement, which will then be permanently attached to the disputed information in your records.

You need to contact the health care provider and request the procedure for requesting an amendment.
