Is it legal for BLM to be filing rescissions of mining law regulations without public consent or knowledge? The only people who know are those already in the loop.

BLM has been filing multiple rescissions of regulations that pertain to mining laws in Alaska, which endanger the national forests, native species, and local Americans who live up there. There has been one to deregulate Oil and Gas mining, one to make it so shale oil mining doesn’t require regular documentation, and two more which I haven’t been able to look into much yet. They’re saying that it doesn’t need to be brought up to the public because these “regulations are obsolete”, but really they’re not. They’re going to make it extremely easy for Big Oil to step in and completely destroy the entire state. This will also obviously contribute heavily to global warming since they’ll be heating up the area as a byproduct of operations. I’ll put a link to the one with the shortest timeline for rebuttal comments to be added so you guys can see what I’m talking about. This can’t possibly be legal; they know this will affect citizens, the environment, and will have long-term damaging effects.

This is the problem and the risk in governing by executive branch administrative law, of which both parties are horribly guilty.

    There are two potential remedies:

    1. Congress could pass statutes.
    2. We could elect better leaders.

The only people that can challenge the government’s actions need to have standing. In the case of Alaskan wilderness the number of people who qualify for standing isn’t going to be a lot.
