Ex refusing to give children back

I have primary custody, I was just awarded it in Feb. My ex was supposed to bring the children back to me from summer visitation. She claims to now live in Georgia, I live in Louisiana, Custody order is in Virginia. Next week is August 1st and that’s when I can officially changed the jurisdiction of the custody order to Louisiana.

She’s refusing to give the children back, and going on day 3 since they were originally supposed to be back. All law enforcement agencies have told me that they cannot help me. Louisiana, Virginia, and Georgia. I found out today there was a CPS report made against me, and in the report it named a police report she filed in Georgia.

This is the second CPS report she’s filed since February, with the first one being Feb 3rd. evidence was presented to Louisiana CPS, and they fully realized it’s a false report and said they will contact with Georgia Sheriff to work on getting my kids back.

I’ve contacted my old Lawyer in Virginia, and she’s prepared to file an emergency motion, and I’ve contacted a local attorney.

Would there be any advantage in the custody order being in Louisiana and using a local attorney? The police have told me if the custody order was in the same state as me they could help.

Until it’s time, VA has jurisdiction and your lawyer is helping you.

The courts and your lawyer will help. I get it’s stressful, but trust the system.
