If you Google Complaints about Harris County Pets, their volunteers and lead vet spoke to the county commissioner about them killing dogs in 15 days, instead of 30, and euthanizing adoptable dogs, even when they had five applicatios to take them. Channel 11, 2, and 13 have reported from 2023 and 2024 that they starve animals. They are killing 250 dogs a week instead of 20 to 40, and they have not made the information public since 2019. They have secret court hearings at PCT 3 without telling the dog owner, so a judgement can be made. The Dangerous Dog hearing was 6/18, you have to appeal within 15 days, and animal control waited 19 days before telling me the requirements to keep my dogs. I made the outdoor, covered enclosure on concrete, got dangerous dog signs, collars, and muzzles, they already had their shots, I registered as Dangerous Dogs, and they refused to look at the paperwork. Harris County Pets told me to show the court and the court told me to show Harris County Pets. My dogs were impounded 7/20, I made an appointment at 9 am 7/22 and was told I could have my dogs, then I arrived at 2:30 and they said they had court at one and I did not comply with requirements, even though I did, and they wouldn’t review, so the order to destroy was done. Even then, the destroy order states that I can have my dogs if I meet the requirments, but they will not look at the requirements, so my dogs have to stay there until we have court. I appealed to a higher court and the court told them not to kill my dogs until the judge makes a decision and I contacted an attorney who specializes in theses cases. Also, there are many complaints on YELP. They are unethical and I don’t know why they will not look at the dogs, meet them, play with them, sometimes not feed them, are mean, and not helpful to the owners. They enjoy killing them for some reason. It is documented.
