Should i tell my brother to report his teacher?

r/

I 14M has a brother 12M,he is in 1st grade and has a pretty controversial teacher.

He basically said his teacher would bully some specific girls at class for failing, like saying “We know who is going to fail” “As always she failed”.also has favoritism for a specific girl and compares her with the class and gives her better notes, also he lowers your note if you complain about him,and last he send a 20 page homework, which if you ask me it is a lot for a 1st grader.

Should i tell him to report the teacher?

Yeah report it to your parents or to the administration. Preferably parents.

Does he have a learning disability or is he on the spectrum?. No ill intent just curious because of 12 in first grade.

Is the grade of your brother correct? There is a mismatch on the age.

I would think that a parent would be involved if a teacher gave a first grader 20 pages of homework.

Why is a 12 year old in first grade?

Why so many Americans assume it’s their school system, just read the comments man it isn’t that hard. But yeah deffo report it the girl he’s favouritising could be in danger and the girls he’s bullying will be set up for failure.

There isn’t an age/grade where this teacher’s teaching method is acceptable! He needs to wear a hidden microphone to school to document and with parental support, report this teacher with proof.

Anecdotally, I had a chemistry teacher like that and I missed way too many days of school because of anxiety caused by her. She’d pick on me and a few others but prioritise one girl in particular. This had a pretty big impact on my self esteem and my overall attendance/ school wellbeing. I don’t want to put pressure on you because you are 14 (and ita very kind of you to look out for your brother), but J would recommend having a chat with administration. Hopefully, this is only harmless and unintentional but, if it isn’t, it must be stopped. Best wishes, OP

What country has a 12 yr old in FIRST grade? Something is off.

To those confused about the brothers age, this is not in the American school system. What OP is referring to is year one, not first grade.

His brother is in his first year of high school (which starts at age twelve for them).

To OP, yes he should, however consider if the teacher might retaliate against your brother in some form. Involve your parents and see if they can help you with the report. Parental involvement may discourage the teacher from trying to retaliate against the other students or your brother. Good luck!

If he’s 12 and in the 1st grade, the teacher is the least of his problems
