I (14M) have been going out with this girl for about a month and a half (yes teenage relationships blah blah blah don’t want to hear it) and over the last two days her ex has broke no contact and messaged her. He mentally fucked her up badly last time they spoke, he’s a diagnosed schizophrenic and bipolar, and he’s 19. Not only that, she can’t talk to police or just block him, because he has connections that could ruin her future (college, etc) and he has threatened her family before. Even if the police did get involved, he’s got a lot of money and has literally got out of some business with cocaine before because of either his connections or his money. He has so much power in this situation to the point where I genuinely have no clue what we can do. What can I do here?

Are the parents aware? Coming from an almost 30 year old, no 19 year old wields that kind of power…. maybe to someone younger it may seem that they do, but, they don’t. Block him and move on with yalls lives, also if parents dont know yet, its time for them to know especially since yall are actually scared of this kid. The adults can help.
She HAS to tell her parents. Period. They should contact the police from there. He does not have the power he claims to have.
It may feel like he wields a lot of power, I think it’s more likely that he’s been talking a big game about what he’s capable of.
You & your girlfriend are not powerless in this situation. If adults aren’t aware, they need to be now. If she’s hesitant to take this to adults, I would suggest you tell an adult you trust to get their perspective.
Regardless of any other advice you chose to take. You MUST start documenting every interaction either of you have with him now, with dates and times. It’ll make life a lot easier down the line if/when you need to take this to the police.
Just a bit perspective from someone more than twice your age, life is long, you’re right at the start of it. Its very hard for you or someone else to ruin your life at this age.
