Location: Louisiana
Three members of my family (my mother and her two siblings) have an LLC together that owns a piece of real estate in Louisiana and nothing else. They want to sell the parcel to me and then dissolve the LLC, in order to make things more simple going forward. (They are all over 75 years old and things would get more complicated if any or all of them were to pass away leaving their part of the LLC to their respective children; we are trying to avoid that scenario.)
What is the process for me buying the parcel? Do we need a real estate person or can we file the paperwork ourselves? Where do we find the appropriate forms? Dissolving the LLC should be relatively straightforward, I just need a little guidance with the real estate purchase part of this. Thanks in advance for any pointers in the right direction!

This is like any real estate purchase – an LLC being involved doesn’t change a lot. If you are closing through a title company, they will want to see documentation that the person signing on behalf of the LLC has the authority to do so, but otherwise it’s just a deed like normal.
