27F/39M LDR, am I delusional??

r/

I (27F) met a guy (39M) while we were both working overseas. Things started off a little rocky but we found our way back eachother and I genuinely believe he is my person. Our work ended and we are both now in our hometowns… which are thousands of km’s apart. Literally across the world. We only had a limited amount of time together (about 2ish months) before we had to leave each other and decided to do long distance. During our time together it truly felt like he is my person. Prior to leaving, we decided to be exclusive and give long distance a try knowing that in the future it could possibly be quite easy for me to move to him given our job industry.

It’s been 2 months since we last saw each other, but we have set time throughout the day that we dedicate to FaceTiming/calls with the time difference, text when we can etc. we’ve had the hard conversations and expectations, where we want the future to go and how we plan on getting there. I’m mainly just looking for success stories of long distance relationships that started out short/quick before jumping into the distance, and such a large distance at that. We both feel so strongly for one another and it’s clear/shown from both sides. Sometimes I get in my head thinking it’s too good to be true. What do you guys think? Am I delusional?

TL;DR has anyone else started a relationship and shortly after gone into long distance with a large distant, and bigger age gap? I’m head over heels for this man and we both are willing to do what we need to in order to make this work, but that will take an extended period of time.
