I have some audio recordings (voice memos) of my ex verbally and emotionally abusing me. I’m aware that Wisconsin is a one-party consent state, so these recordings were legal to obtain. They were sent to the police last year when he got arrested for domestic violence.
He is a public figure and a few days ago he made a slanderous video about me to his audience of 350k+. I’m now considering detailing my experience with him in a public way, for both educational/awareness purposes, and to ensure that he can no longer spread lies to his audience about me. Is there a way to do so without legal repercussions? The last thing I want is a lawsuit where this ugly situation just gets dragged out even further. I really want to just get the truth out and move on with my life.
Thank you!
Location: Wisconsin (where the audio was recorded) + Michigan (where I live now)

Releasing evidence of pending domestic violence charge isn’t a smart move if you want to see him prosecuted.
