Can I be cited for dumping?

So there’s an auto parts store near me. I got permission like 4 years ago from the employee to put any automotive fluids on the back side of the building and they will handle it. They specifically said they would take any fluid and there’s no limits. The other auto parts stores near me only take oil and usually make you dump it yourself.

I’ve been taking my fluids here every couple months for years no problem. Lately I saw a sign up that said “under video surveillance, no illegal dumping”. Since they have the sign up does the old agreement change or can I continue the keep putting my fluids by the back of the store?

    There’s two questions here.

The first is “can you be cited?”. The answer is yes, absolutely you can be.

The second is whether the citation would stick. Do you know that employee, are they still there, and would they back you?

I wouldn’t put anything back there without consulting a manager first. Whoever told you 4 years ago it was okay probably doesn’t even work there anymore, so if the police come to cite you, you’re not going to be able to prove you had permission. I would argue the recently-posted signs probably revoked permission anyways.
