Location: Ohio, USA. I found a piece of metal about 3/8 of an inch inside a frozen ravioli. Looks to be a piece of a chain bracelet. It is possibly aluminum. I contacted the company via their online question/comment portal, and had a customer service rep reach out to me today. She wants me to send the piece of metal to them. I am not litigious, but I don’t want to void any rights I may have. I was not injured by the piece of metal and honestly would be fine with a coupon for a free bag or something.
Should I send the metal to them per their request losing my only physical evidence that this occurred (I have pictures of it I sent them)?

What damages do you have? There’s the old joke about a customer complaining to the waiter about a fly in the soup and the waiter saying keep it down or everyone will want one.
Without say a broken tooth, damage from ingesting it etc, you’re owed a refund or replacement.
Sending it to them can identify what happened and possibly prevent it from happening again.
