The title says most of it but the longer version goes as follows. My boyfriend is a music teacher, and one of his students cancelled the rest of their lessons in early May due to illness. My boyfriend and the student notified his employer, but they never took the lessons off his portal. Over time, these cancelled lessons built up and filled his portal, and locked themselves so he could not see his other lessons. A stipulation for getting paid for these lessons is that the lesson note is written, so once June rolled around he wasn’t able to write his lesson notes. Typically he has a 6 day window to complete these, but because of the cancelled lessons he wasn’t able to do this. In early July my boyfriend finally got a hold of his boss and explained what happened. The boss acknowledged the lessons occured and marked them as attended and asked my boyfriend to write notes for them, which he did within 3 days of the call. Now, his boss is refusing to pay out these lessons he did, citing the 6 day policy. While it’s my opinion that the admin error should make the 6 day policy void, is there any way he can just not pay my boyfriend for these hours worked?
