Can we force a school decision if neither parent can agree on a school for children in a shared custody situation?

My child’s father and I cannot come to an agreement for sending our children to a school. We live in different school districts with a large gap in school quality.

The school he wants to send the kids to is ranked #752 out of 1002 schools in the state. This is the school district he resides in.

The school i want to send the kids to is ranked #66 out of 1002. This is the school district I reside in.

I really want the kids to get a quality education, and we have petitioned the court but the hearing won’t be until early October. Can we force his hand and enroll the kids in the better school district? There is nothing in our court order that pertains to schooling, which is why we’re at such an impasse.

Thank you for any possible advice.
