Nah, it didn’t really go away—it’s just not in the news 24/7 anymore. Bird flu’s still around, mostly affecting poultry and wild birds. A few cases pop up in humans now and then, but it’s rare and usually linked to direct contact with infected birds.
I live near a few farms, and last year they had to cull a bunch of chickens after an outbreak. It’s still taken seriously in agriculture, but the average person doesn’t hear much unless there’s a big spike. So yeah, it’s more “managed” than “gone.”
The current administration doesn’t feel it’s a priority. Not trying to make anything political, but you won’t see much about bird flu unless it becomes a full on pandemic, and you even then it won’t get the attention it deserves.
Things like this crossing species is pretty serious, as there is no inherent resistance to the new virus in the species it jumps to. Hopefully that doesn’t become an issue here.
No, but the trump administration is actively preventing the CDC from doing any research, and censored the CDC (and other science sites) so that we mere citizens cannot access the information our taxes pay for.
No. It is still there plus now? It has moved into dairy cows, presumable directly from infected birds. And scientists are really, really worried about that.anytime a virus readily jumps species, it means it’s ripe for a couple of things: being increasingly more transmissible (contagious), and increasingly more fatal (more people who get it, will die).
On a scale of 1-10, 1 being unconcerned and 10 a metric ton of worried? Many experts are at 5-6-7 on that scale. Already.
The reason eggs are so expensive right now is because of bird flu. So yeah, I’d say it’s being ignored. Am I really the first person to comment who knows this?
Quite honestly, the news agencies in the US are being filtered by Donald Trump. The president.
It’s pretty much the first step in controlling everything without regard to anyone.
What I don’t understand is how the entire us was affected and had no eggs for months meanwhile both Mexico and Canada remained untouched. I would assume birds fly across the border and can infect each other. But only here in the US we had issues 🤔
No it’s still around. But with the Trump administration firing the people at CDC charged with monitoring it, it will be much harder to know what’s happening.
The CDC isn’t allowed to talk about it lol. Or much of anything. The FDA is functionally gone too. The press is owned by corporations and oligarchs. You’re not hearing about it not because it went away but because of these reasons
Bird flu is definitely still around, definiitely still killing flocks, and definitely still a risk of hopping to humans.
Its just that under the malignant rule of RFK Jr our new HHS/CDC response to any disease is to just ignore it, if not actively work to spread it by making up lies about vaccines.
In fact, Trump/Elon/RFK illegally fired the entire team that was working on bird flu at HHS.
This kind of stuff is why I say the Republican Party is genuinely a death cult.
I can’t remember where the source was but there was an article about this just a couple of days ago online. Because it’s still winter in some parts of the country it is still spreading relatively slowly and contained here and there. But now that the weather is warming up they are expecting it to start spreading more And more areas.
I’ve only seen six geese flying north. A set of two and a set of four. They used to be full double V’s. Bird flu is raging. This administration is garbage. Flaming garbage.
No, they stopped tracking and reporting on the spread for the most part. It’s spread to many other animals, including cattle. Eating sunny side up eggs and rare meat of any kind is not advisable.
Bird flu is definitely still around. It is more prevalent in the fall and winter though when birds tend to flock and pass it more easily between each other. It dies back during the spring and summer when birds break into pairs or are more solitary.
No. And they just fired a bunch of specialists, veterinarians who were assessing and tracking it under Kennedy (he’s been on a firing splurge with the cdc, FDA and nih). So it’s there, just no data. No accountability.
Just like he did with covid. If you don’t test for it, there won’t be any new cases. He said with all of this bird flu that it isn’t allowed to be spoken about unless approved by him or his administration. This happened shortly after he was inaugurated.

If you don’t track it, or have means to report it… then yes it’s gone
The current administration doesn’t feel it’s a priority. Not trying to make anything political, but you won’t see much about bird flu unless it becomes a full on pandemic, and you even then it won’t get the attention it deserves.

No bad news allowed in the trump administration.
My understanding is they have adjust flock sizes on laying hens. That means less birds a culled when a flock gets exposed.
We are following the CCP model and we don’t track any information we don’t like.
It did not. Trump just decided “we don’t talk about bird flu” is the new rule.

Wild birds are dying, but the depressing truth is that no one really cares because they’re not worth any money.
The reason eggs are so expensive right now is because of bird flu. So yeah, I’d say it’s being ignored. Am I really the first person to comment who knows this?
Nah – the reporting of it did under Donald ‘Can’t have Covid if we don’t test’ Trumps direction
No.
Quite honestly, the news agencies in the US are being filtered by Donald Trump. The president.
It’s pretty much the first step in controlling everything without regard to anyone.
No, it’s still causing mass die-offs in both wild and domestic populations
it got ignored by the media, trumps tariffs sells more add space
Apparently it went back to bothering birds and now eggs are 10 bucks a dozen
Nothing went away, we just don’t like to talk about possible and probable pandemics.
No, just ignored.
What I don’t understand is how the entire us was affected and had no eggs for months meanwhile both Mexico and Canada remained untouched. I would assume birds fly across the border and can infect each other. But only here in the US we had issues 🤔
No, we just fired everyone who used to keep tabs on it….
It’s just a flu. It’s out of the news because there is no longer an election.
Still around and soon to spread further. Cats and then people next.
When you get rid of everyone that’s in charge of healthcare you quit hearing about things it’s still out there so are the measles
It just up and flu away.
If we don’t count cases, nobody has the illness… Trumpian logic prevails.
Similar to COVID it’s just not the hot thing to talk about anymore. COVID is still around but it’s al.ost forgotten at this point.
The latter.
Bird flu is definitely still around, definiitely still killing flocks, and definitely still a risk of hopping to humans.

Nah it’s around, but we aren’t allowed to know anything about it, so we just have to wait for people to start dropping dead from it
Pretty much because Republicans don’t use fear to control people
No, Trump fired all of the people in charge of tracking and mitigating the virus….Just like he did with covid right before shutdown
No but I read they’re now recalling fake eggs for bleach contamination
It did not go away.
It’s getting worse.
It’s being ignored by the current administration and “journalists.”
Why yes, of course citizen. How are your egg prices?
No it’s still killing birds: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.keloland.com/news/local-news/residents-clean-up-thousands-of-dead-geese-on-lake-byron/amp/
Although it has been a month since any new cases were detected in commercial flocks, so maybe it’s on the downswing: https://www.delawareonline.com/story/news/local/2025/04/01/how-the-delmarva-poultry-industry-is-faring-amid-bird-flu-outbreak/80285670007/
I mean, by way that the departments that monitor surveillance and respond to being dismantled, sure, you could say it “just went away”…..on paper.
“If we don’t test for it, then we won’t have any problems.”
It did not, but all the people who studied it and were tracking the spread have been sacked.
It’s just like Covid, not a current talking point and rage baiting topic anymore.
Go away? I just got my ENA newsletter about the CDC 2024 numbers this morning.
There were 70 confirmed human cases last year, with one death.
https://www.cdc.gov/bird-flu/situation-summary/index.htm
They did a good breakdown. The CDC has basically said it’s spread to the point of being a permanent problem.
If you stop testing, there aren’t any cases
Signed, our new health services director
I’ve only seen six geese flying north. A set of two and a set of four. They used to be full double V’s. Bird flu is raging. This administration is garbage. Flaming garbage.
Uh… no..? It’s only the beginning.
No, they stopped tracking and reporting on the spread for the most part. It’s spread to many other animals, including cattle. Eating sunny side up eggs and rare meat of any kind is not advisable.
The CDC was gagged against communicating about it.
Once it jumps to humans, you’ll hear about it again….unless you won’t 😵
Nah it flu away.
Did covid just go away? What happened to covid?
No! It has not gone away.
You’re not hearing a lot about it because the Felon and Elon are dismantling media, science and facts
It was never around in the first place.
Errrrm…no. Watch this space.
Bird flu is definitely still around. It is more prevalent in the fall and winter though when birds tend to flock and pass it more easily between each other. It dies back during the spring and summer when birds break into pairs or are more solitary.

Look at the egg price. As long as that stays where it is, the flu’s around.
Yeah, it is like climate change. We paid extra taxes and it stopped
