I’m a man and I enjoy washing folding and hanging my clothes up to dry and putting them away. It puts my mind at ease. For a lot of people laundry is a chore especially for us men sometimes but do any other men love doing laundry?
How many other men like doing laundry?

Me personally? No.
Laundry no. But I do enjoy washing the dishes so I know exactly what you mean.
Not really. I do enjoy the end result of ironing my shirts but getting there takes too long.
When the washer and dryer work fine, I enjoy it a lot
I do, but mostly because I want it done, and correctly.
Hate it. The arrangement I have with my girlfriend is she does the laundry and I do everything else.
Calling it enjoyment is taking it too far, but i dont hate it either. Never folded clothes, usually just take it off the rack and put it in a pile if i need the place for next batch.
I absolutely hate it.
But, now do the majority of the washing for my household, because, well, I love my wife and want her to have time to relax after work, and for us to enjoy the weekends instead of doing chores.
I have no problem doing the laundry. Now putting it away is a different story. Now we have a decent system set up, but my exes were quite difficult about any kind of organization, I can’t put other people’s clothes away when I don’t know where they go or we don’t have a place for them.
Laundry = helln yes, dishes = okay, silverware = why must I suffer
Nah I actually hate doing laundry the most out of all chores. However I do enjoy cleaning my room and making my living establishment look clean and comforting. Takes my mind off things and lets me focus on a satisfying and enjoyable outcome
Not really tbh.
I do it because I want it to be clean, that is all.
Something about folding and putting away laundry has always been a soothing process. I feel you
Muuuuuch prefer doing laundry over dishes. But 4yos washing is annoying. So many little pieces
I don’t mind it at all. It’s kinda satisfying getting things clean and back in the closet.
I hate pairing socks though.
I abhor laundry. Especially because I have to walk far for the machines.
As it’s just me and my kids at home I get a sense of satisfaction providing them with clean fresh clothes and having an empty laundry basket.
Laundry , used to, but not anymore
Ironing, YES, I do it virtually after every laundry and enjoy it
Folding more than laundry.
Yeah, organizing is relaxing.
Chores are just…things I have to do over and over until I die.
They will never be complete. Things will always begin accumulating again immediately.
Maybe sometime before I die I will have to watch in shame as someone has to do them for me because I’m no longer able and inflicted it on them instead.
Doing them is not a great time for me to get thoughtful….
Before I was in a relationship, I enjoyed going to laundromats. They were so peaceful.
I love it!!!
I want to get rfid tags for all clothes so I can scan what’s going through the laundry and when. I can then collate everything and generate a huge data set. It’s quite simple, put the phone in the washing machine and scan everything at once and register it to a central database. I can then infer all sorts of interesting things from the data:
If I could find some way of measuring drying I can then work out other interesting data:
It’s a computer nerd’s wet dream. An unconquered realm of data.
I could also run AI over the data and look for interesting data patterns that I can only dream about right now.
it’s therapeutic for me, especially when i hang them under sunlight
Everything feels right with the world .
I love it! I know it’s weird but years ago when I got my first front loader I was so happy. Don’t even get me started but fresh towels and sheets are amazing
Me!
In fact I do 90% of the housework as my wife works shifts as a paramedic. It’s an intense job and she does long hours. I work from home and enjoy making the place nice for her to come home to.
Doing my own laundry, household bedding, and household towels is enjoyable for me. Doing anyone else’s laundry (wife or kids clothes) is hell.
We are a family of five, and have always done our own laundry. Kids were each taught at approximately five years old
nope. thankful there’s a laundry that washes, dries, and folds for a relatively cheap price near my place.
I love cleaning and folding the dishes 😊
Marry me? Because I fucking hate laundry.
I don’t mind doing laundry. But washing socks is annoying. Like a lot of guys I don’t have the same colour perception women have, so trying to match many black, but not quite the same colour black socks does my head in.
I dont enjoy the laundry itself I enjoy the getting stuff done. The other thing I’ve taken on myself as mine is the cleaning the kitchen. That my thing I do enjoy or rather enjoy the results
I did, but I like way the ladies of my laundry service do it even more.
i enjoy it but i prefer doing the dishes
I don’t particularly enjoy it, but it’s sorta satisfying if you know what mean. Especially now since I have my own washing machine so everything is tip top clean.
I do it by hand and it’s easy
I like to put a load in my washer……
I like it sometimes, like if I dont have football match or something. Depends
I do all the laundry, my gf does all the dishes.
I hate it. But the best thing my family ever did was to have everyone do their own laundry.
It was my idea and it just made sense. Kids need to learn to do their own laundry. Your clothes should be your own responsibility.
No one likes doing laundry. Does feel good when it is completed. Can see the accomplishment.
I’d say “like” is a strong word, but it’s also something so quick and inconsequential I don’t mind it. I work from home, sometimes I just remember that there’s a half full hamper, I toss stuff in for a spin and empty the drying rack.
Not particularly. But omits better than some other chores
I love doing my own laundry, my own dishes. Cleaning the house.
Chores only got annoying back the when my sisters won’t do their own dishes.
Dude, I love it. There’s something so…zen about it. Same thing with dishwashing!
I like folding shirts. I learned a Japanese technique that makes it fast and artful.
Lay the shirt flat: Place the shirt on a flat surface with the front side up.
Identify points: Imagine two lines: one vertically down the center, and another horizontally halfway between the top and bottom. The point where they intersect is point A, the top point is B, and the bottom point is C.
Pinch and fold: Use your left hand to pinch point A, and your right hand to pinch point B. Bring your right hand over to grab point C. Then, unfold your arms and let the shirt hang.
Final fold: Use the table to fold the shirt back on itself, creating a neat rectangle.
Yup. Very therapeutic. And ironing for hours while binging a series? Yup
it’s sure as hell not hard.
I prefer laundry over many other chores. It is a very clear mission with a very clear outcome. I can do that!
I always do laundry, it’s okay to me
I do all in our family.
I like doing the laundry, but it gives me me time.
But just dont whine about it if things arent your way.
I like doing laundry. It’s relaxing. And there’s buttons to push and chemicals to add!
I really don’t mind because I just want it done in a timely fashion, as in “I set timers so there’s a good flow.” This isn’t to say that my wife’s processes are not effective or unappreciated.
Washer and dryer are communal in the basement of our apartment building so you have to go outside down two flights of stairs. I don’t mind it, but next time we’re moving having them in unit would be so nice.
If I was filthy rich and could hire a full-time housekeeper, doing the laundry would be one of her duties. Especially the sheets and blankets.
I don’t mind doing it, but I wouldn’t say that I actively enjoy it either.
I hate it, but I do it.
I love cooking though.
Laundry is a sisiphyan task that I used to hate doing to my core.
Now that I live alone it’s not as bad, and I can just do it every other week, in one big several load day where I can do all my chores like cleaning the bathrooms, cleaning whatever part of the house has got to the point it needs a deep clean, and I’ll start by gathering all the dirty laundry from my son’s room, my room, whatever socks or clothes never made it to a hamper, and throw in a load, set a timer, and do other cleaning, when the timer goes off, wet clothes in the dryer, throw in another load and set a timer for the dryer, clean or cook some more, then I have a table for folding clothes in my laundry room as well as a clothing rack, when I switch the laundry, I’ll take out the clean dry clothes, hang up all the shirts, fold everything and put it in a basket, repeat for as many loads as I have, then take the basket upstairs with all the shirts on hangers and put it all away.
Breaking it up this way so that it’s not “clean all the clothes, fold and hang up and put away all the clothes” has made it much less torturous. Plus setting timers means I never forget about clothes in the washer unless I fall asleep
I have absolutely no issue doing the laundry from start to finish. It’s a sense of accomplishment when I see the pile of clean clothes that are all folded and I put them away.
Like? No, but I’ve been doing it since I was 9 and I don’t mind it.
I don’t mind doing laundry. I enjoy it more now than when I had 3 teenage girls in the house. Then it was piles of clothes and towels.
I like doing it, pretty easy
I freakn’ hate doing any house chores, I used to not be that way but the older I get the less I give a crap.
I’m not a fan, but I also don’t go thru alot of laundry. I probably wash a load about every 2 weeks. Helps that I really don’t sweat alot (can easily run a 5k without breaking a sweat).
Folding laundry can fuck right off.
Laundry is one of those things I just can’t stand, but I do it anyway. My wife offers and I thank her, but would rather have control over everything. But I swear, every time I use the machines, I’m afraid they’re going to malfunction. That alone makes me not wanna do it.
I don’t mind doing laundry. It’s simply but makes you feel productive which stimulates the brain.
Most chores aren’t too bad. It’s just starting them that’s the hard part for me.
I like to kick on music, smoke a little, and think about how I’ll feel after the choirs are done.
Probably works for physical activities too but I’m too tired right now lol. I need like 60 days of clean eating and maybe I could feel good enough to go to the gym consistently you know.
Bruh, the machines do 90% of the work.
I wouldn’t say that I enjoy laundry (and dishes), but I would say that I like the resulting organization and removal of clutter, and listening to some podcasts while I’m doing the work has pretty much removed the boredom and the desire to stop and go do something else.
I do too, it may be my favorite house chore. Dishes are my least favorite chore, but I still do it plenty. If I had an order of chores I like most to least, it would be laundry -> vacuuming -> window washing -> wiping down the sinks/counters/toilets/shower -> mopping -> sweeping -> dishes -> dusting.
I live in an apartment and we have a communal laundry room. Someday I’ll get a house and my own washer/dryer, and I’ll do laundry all the time. Looking forward to it.
I don’t mind doing laundry because for me it’s mostly down time. Put a load in the washer, wait until the washer is done, put the load in the dryer, wait until the dryer is done, then fold. It’s a task that takes ~2-2½ hours to do, but only 15-20 minutes of actual work, so I can spend the time when the machines are running doing other stuff. For me it’s the least taxing chore to do.
I find menial tasks therapeutic, laundry, dishes, mowing the lawns, data entry etc.
Been married 40 years, and I’ve always done our laundry.
One reason is that it helps balance out the household chores.
But i also like doing it. It has a tangible goal, and you can see the results of your work. 😁
I mean
I’m good at it. I don’t mind it. But it’s not my first choice on how to spend my time. Wouldn’t consider as to say I “like”/“love” doing any chore
It’s just not one I hate
Not at all. I used to, but now I have a thing about laundry rooms.
i dont like doing it but to me laundry isnt even a thing i legit grab my ball of clothes i put them i nthe washing machine i throw a tab in and i turn it on then i go about my day for 2 hours then i throw it in the dryer and come back later then fold it and put it away its like 2 min job + 1 min job + 10 min job.
One of my preferred chores. I hate cleaning so wife does that. My least favourite chore is changing the bed sheets, mattress weighs a ton and its a real pain to do properly
Like? No. Will i do it? Yea. Is it annoying and tedious and would I love to take a flamethrower to it all!?
….No comment lol
