If we remove all the technology, militaries and knowledge and start from scratch, which country you think will come on top?

r/

My bet is on china simply because of the natural resources they have so there wouldnt problem in aquiring it.

First most of the population would starve due to the breakdown of supply chains with the loss of the current technological advances

Forest areas of Africa because of nature and access to farmland space

It would actually be the most rural countries that would come out on top. Basically any highly urbanized country would suffer mass starvation and collapse in short order without modern agriculture technology.

Definitely not the US. At night they will be hitting the air with sticks because the dark is black.

What would be the excuse first time around? China had those same resources to start anyways.

I mean if we started from scratch, assuming no variables changed, then we would expect the same result we got the first time

Probably England soon as they figure our hownto build a boat again everyone’s fuxked

Removing the knowledge is a neat wildcard. That’s what separates the US from the rest of the world.

Based on where certain discoveries were made… Argentina.

USA over china probably. Super favorable geography for agriculture and very secure as well. China doesn’t actually have the much arable land compared to us so we’d probably dominate. We have more navigable waterways as well by an order of magnitude so it’d be easier to form strong wealthy and sprawling kingdoms with lots of trade.

    Whoever has the most people.

I do not understand the question.

If we removed all knowledge, there would be no “countries”: only a multitude of unorganized people who will randomly coalesce in societies after a period of anarchy and mass casualties.

If you reset everything but keep the ideologies and theory and infrastructure of government, with none of the economic difficulty, China would win.

China! I believe they have the largest military.

It’s a gamble. India and China have huge populations that are not sustainable on no technology. They’d probably break apart if you removed all the central governments power. Both China and India have a long history of fighting civil wars. Europe has good chances of getting powerful again, so does the US. Population is no as dense as, lots of farmable land. Brazil could do good as well.

Nations would collapse and it would take centuries for a global power to arise and it would look nothing like modern nations.

China for sure. They have thousands of years of a deeply ingrained and cohesive set of cultural values that promote societial structure and order and collectivism which has kept their society afloat despite periods of political upheaval (Confucionism). They have an enormous amount of space and land that lends itself well to farming. They have pretty intense natural borders that would protect them from invaders (and a kickass wall that has been mostly effective) and access to the sea.

The US would be a flaming dumpster of shit.

Base on geographies and review history, it would play out the same initially and then the countries that most quickly ‘remembered’ how to do technology would dominate

I think if we are sent back to the stone age we never would recoup. Think about the fact we’ve used up pretty much all of the surface level resources we’ve used to go deeper and harder after the resources we need. It would take generations to recoup and by the time we did I doubt there’d be enough surface level resources to rebuild to where we are.

    Trick question.

If modern technology were removed; most existing countries would end up splitting into smaller feudal states due to currently existing governments being dependent on said modern technology to extend their reach and exert influence over broad areas.

What you should be asking is what regions would be best to live in without technological aid. The answer to that question is probably going to be somewhere along the US/Canada border.
