Fake names have been used.
So it’s gotten worse at work. I was recently pulled up to the office with two of my team leaders on Friday. The conversation went as followed:
▪︎Team Leader 1: So I hear you’ve been talking to people in the kitchen. Can you tell me.
▪︎ Me: About what…..
▪︎ TL 1: I hear you have a new job that you can start as early as the end of week.
▪︎Me: No, but I am looking as we might be moving.
▪︎TL 2: Next issue. Apparently you’ve been saying no one likes Hannah or working with her.
▪︎Me: Ive never said that, I dont even work on the same section as her.
▪︎ TL 1: Well you do talk to people about work and maybe talk about her.
▪︎ Me: I have never said that.
▪︎ TL 1: OK if you say so. Next is apparently you’ve said that Paul, Emily and Hannah are in like a weird 3 way relationship.
▪︎ Me: What!?!?!?
▪︎ TL 2: You heard us. You’ve apparently said they are in a 3 way relationship.
▪︎ Me: No. I have never and would never say that. That is disgusting.
▪︎ TL 1: OK. Well thank you we thought we’d come to you and ask for your side please send Lily up once you’ve gone back down.
▪︎ Me: OK…
I then leave to go down to work again while im going back to work I’m thinking where is this new job? I’ll be there in a heartbeat.
Why would I say something so vile?
How could they think I would say that?
So some context Paul is the general manger and lives above the pub with his wife Emily. They’ve literally just had their wedding. Hannah (20) also lives in one of the other apartments above the pub. They are close friends as Paul and Emily’s child does an after school activity with Hannah. Hannah was also a bridesmaid in their wedding.
I was then called up again with my accuser Lily(18) The next conversation is as follows.
▪︎ TL 1: So we have to very different accounts here. You(Me) have denied all allegations and Lily says you have 100% said that.
▪︎ Me: I would never say those things.
▪︎ TL 1: So you’ve never said that no one likes Hannah or working with her?
▪︎ Me: Yes. I dont even work with directly with her.
▪︎ Lily: You are lying. You are such a liar
▪︎ Me: Are you sure it was me and not someone else? When did this happen?
▪︎ Lily: Yes it was you!!! And this was said on Tuesday on the stairs with Anna.
▪︎ TL 1: So there is another person who was in this conversation???
▪︎ Lily: Yes.
▪︎ TL 2: I’ll go get her.
Anna walks in.
▪︎ Anna: oh no what have I been brought into now?
TL 1 goes through everything about Paul, Emily and Hannah.
▪︎ TL 1 : Has (me) ever said those things?
▪︎ Anna: not that im swear. Ive said they have a weird relationship but as a joke. And people come to me and talk about how Hannah is annoying.
Im now think it’s all over as she just said she has that before.
▪︎ Lily: But (me) said it on Tuesday.
▪︎ Anna: I dont really remember what happened that day.
▪︎TL 1: OK thank you Anna you can leave now.
▪︎ Lily: Why would I lie, im already in trouble with other stuff.
▪︎ I dont know but i would never say that. And right now Im feeling very attacked and I think I have a reason to feel that way.
▪︎TL 1 and 2: No one is attacking you.
▪︎ Me: i just said I feel that way.
▪︎ TL 1: Do you want to talk to us privately again? Maybe change your statement.
▪︎Me: No idea like to go back to work.
I was so angry and I still am.
Ive worked here for nearly a year and a half i can’t believe they think I would say that stuff.
I was then pulled up again yesterday by TL 2 and conversation went as followed:
▪︎ TL 2: What did we say to everyone yesterday?
▪︎ Me: Not to talk about what happened to anyone.
▪︎ TL 2: So why does Molly say you told her.
▪︎ Me: she asked me what was wrong with me on Friday all I said was apparently I have a new job that I know nothing about and im not allowed to talk about the rest.
▪︎ TL 2: Cause you know that if you say anything it won’t help you. And just so you know this is going to go to the kitchen manager and general manager.
I was then sent home as there was no work to do.
Ive had a false allegation before ans it was found to be false as the person who it was about didn’t know about anything or about the complaint as they didn’t report the issue.
I dont know what to do or how to fight this. Do I just leave without clearing my name or do I stay and fight for my name and then leave?
