Over the last few days my fyp has started getting weirder, I usually follow cosplay videos, left leaning politics, lgbtiqaq etc. But now occasionally coming up are softcore child exploitation material usually in Russian, while I have said I’m not interested in any of these and have been reporting the posts.
I know I can reset my feed and have done this a few times but I’m still being served these exploitation videos, as a survivor of CSA this is especially triggering.

Part of the problem with algorithm-based apps is that they take all engagement as proof of attention, even “I’m not interested in this.”
Have you connected to anyone else’s WiFi lately? You could be seeing recommendations based on someone else’s searches…
Delete tiktok – vote with your feet.
I wonder if it’s part of a broader scheme of incriminating accounts that follow some of the other interests you mentioned.
I haven’t been on tiktok recently but I noticed a weird pattern where I would suddenly get 20-30 videos in other languages, always the blandest, most mind-numbing stuff like trends, attractive people doing the absolute least, and chlidren/babies. First it was Japanese, then it stopped happening much, then after a while I was getting Russian videos, then some Russian some Spanish, then mostly Spanish, then abruptly back to Japanese. The only way to get back to videos I actually liked (“liked” is very generous lol) was to restart the app or refresh the fyp. Hitting not interested never worked for me either.

Ugh, that sucks. It’s not you or what you follow; it’s the app. The first time I tried it, I got soft core porn in the same vein within ten minutes (mom simulating oral sex on a popsicle while talking about her daughter). Years ago, YouTube had to put in some limits to avoid kids stumbling on the adult content, but it seems TikTok didn’t bother learning anything about it. And makes it worse by allowing misleading tags. With the age verification legislation in red states gaining speed, I wonder if the soft core material will spike as it can fly under the radar on general content social media.
I have 2 tiktok accounts – one is purely for keeping tabs on my trainwreck step-daughter and my loony ex (I like knowing where he’s living or what events he’s working at so I don’t have to run into his toxic ass). I haven’t put any effort into curating the second account’s feed and it is BIZARRE. I get fed a lot of pro-US president content (I don’t live in the US) and a lot of evangelical content. It’s quite a shock when I log in there because I have trained my main account to only show me Taylor Swift, food and gardening.
Probably a good sign to get off tiktok if it’s that easy to find child exploitation videos

TikTok was compromised when they copitulated to Trump in order to “restore” servicein the US. Of course part of it was when they met with him they agreed to shill for him.
Everyone should have walked away from it then. TikTok never returned, it’s a propaganda machine now.
Don’t just mark them as not interested. Block the accounts.
