A man threatened to shoot me, cops don’t care

r/

Location: Texas
I was bringing my handicapped wife into our apartment, when I noticed a work truck in the handicapped spot.
I took pictures to report it to the business. Turns out the worker is my upstairs neighbor, who decided to come flying out, and yelled “this is Texas so you know I have a gun, and you’re lucky I didn’t shoot you.”
This was all recorded by the company vehicles camera, and of course I have his plates and address.

The police have decided that it’s only an implied threat, and not an actual threat, so they refuse to pursue charges.

The company HR has decided that threatening me and parking business equipment in handicap spots are not even worth a write up.

My apartments won’t do anything because though he’s living there, he’s not on the lease.

TLDR: This guy breaks the law, then got to threaten me with a gun, and there’s zero repercussions.

Someone please tell me there’s something I can do.

That’s just Texas. Sorry, but that’s not a big deal in the culture here. I’d bet most Texans would think you’re overreacting by still wanting something to be done about it. Legally, this is over unless you sue the guy personally. I moved to this state last summer for work and I am not a fan, so I’m not excusing it. I won’t be here long unless I can’t find a way out. So your choices are: get used to it or leave. 🤷‍♀️
