I recently watched Sinners and I can’t lie, I didn’t see a damn thing that happened between two of the main characters in a fighting scene that was happening during a pivotal moment in the movie.
Honestly, like most of the scenes in the jukebox joint, I could not make out what was happening and it was very annoying.
Even if it’s supposed to set the mood, I can’t even tell what the mood is supposed to be if I can’t see the movie.

We’re talking to you AppleTv!
Saw another person point out somewhere that one day a Batman movie will be so dark they can just release it as an audiobook.
Brightness is your friend, but also your enemy in brighter scenes.
I feel your pain.
This cannot possible be an unpopular opinion. I will wait until I see someone come here exclaiming they dont want to see whats happening in the movies they are watching
I remember thinking that the entire night battle scene in Game of Thrones that went on for half an hour
The only time the darkness works out is at the movie theater or a home theater.
Outside of that…. You can turn the brightness up a bit during scenes!
They cut corners by filming in daylight and then adding some filters to the film, and it shows.
100000% agree.
MY related unpopular opinion is:
You shouldn’t make a song if normal humans can’t immediately understand the ALL of the lyrics.
I agree with the generality of your post, but didn’t have a problem with Sinners in theaters. Did you stream it? I wonder if it was different.
That’s actually pretty popular now. Just like having dialog that you can’t hear in a movie or tv show
Overwhelmingly popular opinion
Agree with this opinion, but didn’t experience this while watching Sinners. Sure there were dark scenes, but could see everything. Prob depends on theater, seats, etc. When I watch at home, if I know it’s going to be dark, we’ll wait until the sun is down.
I don’t get it. It’s like a trent as of late I feel. I constantly think the settings on my tv are of only to find out. Nope just an other movie shot at midnight and the light engineer only took a matchbox with.
