Achieving self assuredness

r/

Do you have any advice for people in their 30s or 40s to achieve the kind of self assuredness that seems more common in older generations? I’m thinking of women specifically. I want to stop wasting time not being comfortable in my own skin and my own opinions.

Live your life instead of overthinking it. “Comparison” is the thief of joy” is a good quote to remember. Practice being in the moment until it comes naturally. We’re all equal in this world made up of various individuals. It’s as much yours as anyone else’s.

Find where you belong. Being around people who are ‘not your tribe’ and doing things that don’t spark a natural interest can be awful for confidence. It’s not you, it’s them kind of thing.

When you find a place in this world where you feel a natural sense of belonging and you can be yourself, everything clicks and the real you comes to life. That’s been my experience at least.

You can only play the cards your dealt. Instead of worrying about your cards or their cards just sit down and play. One day soon your game will be over.

Having goals helps. If you’re working to achieve your goal, anyone else can either help or kindly stand aside.

My name is Goddess. It’s a fact. Tell yourself that. Believe in your truth. No one “tells” me, or “Let’s” me do a damn thing. I don’t ask permission, I make a statement and it’s a damn fact.
