Location: Alabama, USA.

My employer asked me for a fit for duty letter from my doctor. I have had no problems at work ever. I’ve been there for years, never had any performance issues. No write ups and I get along with everybody. I get amazing reviews on my work all the time. I feel like she is only asking this based on the fact that when I called out last, I used a note from my psychologist office, which is allowed. Before she requested the fit for duty letter, she asked if I am still seeing the same doctor. This confused me because we have never talked about anything medical before and I didn’t know where it was going. I have never shared a diagnosis or anything with her about my personal life. I believe she is only asking for this based on the fact that she knows I see a psychologist now. Is this allowed?
