Adidas is WAY better than Nike…

r/

Nike is all hype with that stupid swoosh slapped on everything. It’s overpriced, obnoxious, and honestly not even great quality. Adidas is more comfortable, lasts longer, looks cleaner, and actually works for both everyday wear and performance. Their sneakers feel amazing on your feet, their clothes quality superior, and the designs way more versatile. Three stripes > swoosh, every single time!

Honestly, as long as the shoes last i dont care where they’re from or how cheap they are. Shoe obsessors will always confuse me lol

  3. pabo81 Avatar

Oh no complaints from me there – Nike has gone to shit. But adidas isn’t very good either. I’ve become an old man and moved on to brands like new balance and LL Bean…

  4. Diamondsandwood Avatar

Maybe before they started making their classic designs out of “vegan leather” (plastic).

  5. Inevitable-Snowman-9 Avatar

They’re both cheaply made, overpriced mediocrity.

  6. TheZac922 Avatar

Why does this have to be an issue? I’m a bit of a sneaker guy and I’ve got plenty of Nike and Addidas. Just wear what you like lol. You don’t have to be “loyal” to one brand over another.

This isn’t even an unpopular opinion. It’s just your personal preference (of which many people agree).

  7. ZestycloseUnit7482 Avatar

Zoomx is pretty comfortable. Much better than boost. Lightstrike pro is pretty good though. But new balance are the most comfortable.

  8. liverdawg Avatar

I like adidas but Nike running shorts are the goat

  9. Steeltoelion Avatar

I hate them both. Vans all day.

  10. DoorCalcium Avatar

Highly depends on the shoe model. I’m a runner and there’s very respected shoes in both Nike and Adidas line. Elite runners wear Nike Alphfly 3 and set world records in them.

Adidas Adizero EVO SL are extremely popular in the running community and the Adios Pro 4 are great race shoes.

All shoe brands have good and bad models.

  11. mootxico Avatar

Don’t care. I’ll just get a pair of discounted $50 Nikes whenever my current pair is broken

  12. cosmin46 Avatar

I have never tried a more digustingly uncomfortable shoe than the Adidas Forum.

  13. oddjob33 Avatar

    For soccer kits absolutely.

  14. FvHound Avatar

As someone who had to buy good shoes for my foot pain, all I know is Brookes and ASICS have a couple of ranges that literally got rid of my foot pain, glycerins a few years back was one of them.

  15. Chicken-picante Avatar

This is like Apple vs Samsung.

  16. IamJohnnyHotPants Avatar

Shoes, yes. All other products, not even close.

  17. mtommygunz Avatar

There is a wide variety of types of shoes within both brands. This just a dumb opinion not unpopular.
If you had said adidas soccer shoes are way better than Nike or adidas fashion shoes are way better than Nike… or anything like that there could be a conversation. But this blanket statement it just stupid.
Now if you had said sketchers, as a whole, is way better than Nike, then you’re on to something

  18. Strong_Landscape_333 Avatar

I just get pumas when they’re 70% off

  19. Vitrobliss Avatar

New Balance and Asics all day every day.

  20. seedsupply Avatar

Adidas are the only “style” shoe I wear. They simply fit my feet better than Nike.

But I have wide feet, so if I’m wearing shoes for exercise or comfort I wear Altra or Topo.

  21. visual-vomit Avatar

They’re both overpriced as shit, but yeah i also prefer adidas simply cause most nike shoes are so flat in the middle i can’t even wear them for a while day without feeling like my feet are tearing up. Then again my feet arch are so high that there was no wear and tear on yhe middle part of my sandals, so this may just be me.

  22. RickMoneyRS Avatar

I won’t argue the disparaging of Nike but glazing Adidas at the same time as if the same doesn’t apply is wild.

That being said, the only lines of either of them I would ever buy are their skate shoes, and Nike SB wins out in my opinion both for form and functionality.

  23. Pop-metal Avatar

Depends on the shoe. There are some awful adidas shoes.

  24. Thrompinator Avatar

Objectively true and probably unpopular, well done.

  25. dtsknight Avatar

Diadora shoes tend to be much higher quality.
New Balance and ASICS are also good.

  26. hello_im_al Avatar

It’s one of the few songs by Korn I actually like

  27. Efficient-County2382 Avatar

Not sure that is an unpopular opinion, Nike has lost its way. Adidas has arguably always been a cooler brand, especially with football history (soccer for Americans)

Running podiums are dominated by Adidas and Asics, casual wear shoes are dominated by Adidas, Onitsuka, NB etc. Even Puma. As a runner myself brands like Asics are killing it and have ranges that cover every type of shoe.

  28. OhAces Avatar

They both arnt great. Nike is made by slave kids and are worth $4-5 tops per pair. The people sweating over them and paying jacked up prices are sad victims of marketing. I buy shoes that are comfortable and durable, buying shoes that need crease protectors that hurt your feet is preposterous. Just about any skate shoe is more comfortable than any “trainers” even if they look silly on an adult I don’t care, my feet are happy and so is my wallet.

  29. DrZeroH Avatar

Unless you are wearing specific shoes most of these brands are pretty shit.

Example nike vapor flies have helped my knees with running on concrete a ton. That shit is amazing. But basic shoes? Yeah neither are all that great and their tiny ass toe boxes suck for people with wide feet

  30. tomatomater Avatar

Objectively, their products are more or less the same. But Nike as a brand feel like they want to be prestigious while Adidas just wants to make good stuff people want.

  31. Et_In_Arcadia_ Avatar

Honestly who gives a fudge it’s just shoes, everybody likes different shoes for different reasons. It really doesn’t matter which brand is better, and tbh they are both ass.

  36. JMakuL Avatar

Shape of Nike shoes is always too tight for me no matter the size for some reason

  37. OldKentRoad29 Avatar

I like adidas because they were the only company willing to help Terry Fox without wanting anything from him in return.

  38. SugSomething66 Avatar

Only true before Kanye lost his mind now they’re trash

  39. Untoastedtoast11 Avatar

I’m apart of the WNFC sponsored by adidas. I can tell you adidas is not great either

  40. random_7485 Avatar

Meh, I think Adidas sneakers are ugly. Then again, most Nike’s these days are too wacky and bulky too.

    Maybe I’m just getting old.

  41. silly_bet_3454 Avatar

I don’t care much about any brand but my impression of Nike lately is just that they love China, make all their money in China, and would do anything for China

  42. ph06823 Avatar

Brooks have never done me wrong

  43. Prize_Sort5983 Avatar

Here a real unpopular opinion. All those brands seem the same to me. Tried them all.

  44. goldeenshadow Avatar

Depends on the model. I still buy Air Force 1’s eventhough I generally agree with your opinion.

  52. DarthMutter8 Avatar

I hate Nike. I don’t like how Nike fits my feet. I think they are too narrow maybe? It’s not just the running shoes although I am still haunted by how uncomfortable a pair was from my track days back in high school. I don’t find the shoes attractive either. I have a vendetta with them over soccer jerseys as well. The vast majority look like ass particularly the US national team jerseys which year after year are disappointing. I’m not an Adidas stan but I am a Nike hater.

  53. WittyAd8183 Avatar

Nike quality on all their goods has taken a nosedive in the last 5 years not just their shoes.

  54. eatsleepdive Avatar

My Adidas walked through concert doors

  55. Kimolainen83 Avatar

I wish I could say that I agree to this, but in my country, I don’t think I see Adidas much anymore for some real reason just mostly Nike

  56. Mehhish Avatar

    For me it’s Sketchers!

  57. FindingWise7677 Avatar

My favorite running shoes were Adidas. My soccer cleats were Adidas.

  58. SatanicRiddle Avatar

I tried Etnies, branded with Michelin rubber sole… and they are great.

Last like ~4 years where I just want new one because of the general used scuffed look, not that they would be breaking apart, like other major brands I tried, that were kinda at the edge in their second year.

  59. AgnosticPeterpan Avatar

Both are overpriced. I bought these for 2.15.

Yes i do live somewhere close to where adidas set up their sweatshops.

  60. LividAide2396 Avatar

Clothing: Nike looks better most of the time, Comfort is a tie. Quality is a tie.

Shoes: Nike looks better most of the time. Comfort is a tie. Quality is a tie

They both are about the same, but I think in general, Nike wins because their products have a bit more going for them in the looks department

  61. Retsameniw13 Avatar

Nike shoes have never fit me well generally, they run too narrow. Adidas for the win for me.

  62. podnap Avatar

Adidas all hype with that stupid stripes slapped on everything. It’s overpriced, obnoxious, and honestly not even great quality. Nike is more comfortable, lasts longer, looks cleaner, and actually works for both everyday wear and performance. 63. ottoandinga88 Avatar

They’re just fucking shoes who cares

  64. Zizoor Avatar

Even more unpopular opinion; Both are shit, and the only reason people still buy either is because of extreme corporate brand perception. I’ve had both in the last few years and then switched over to ECCO and other smaller but higher quality brands that spend more on quality rather than crappy marketing.

  65. essray22 Avatar

Most of the brands have lost the point of shoes. They focus on comfort and are not interested in foot health. Wide toe boxes are critical to foot health by letting the foot splay out and get stronger.

I think adidas is one of the biggest offenders by making very narrow shoes. Solomon is right there with them.

  66. Due-Past-929 Avatar

Adidas sneakers have been my go-to for years because they actually last through hikes and daily wear, never had that with nike personally

  67. FCB_KD15 Avatar

For footballs, football kits and just football stuff in general I’d agree.

  68. Fat_Curt Avatar

    Agree, except the shoes

  69. Meetaao Avatar

    Nah broski you way off

  70. JohnMaddensBurner Avatar

I think a lot of people agree that Nike is a form over function shoe brand. You don’t wear a basketball shoe that was standard in 1984 because it feels good.

That’s why a lot of people have separate pairs of shoes. I know people who love Nikes that wear Addidas. Specifically the Ultraboosts. Those are really great shoes.

New Balance is also coming up as an everyday beater shoe.

  71. i-come Avatar

Adidas has, at the moment, some of the ugliest fucken clothes and sneakers i have ever seen.

  77. Malaka_202 Avatar

As far as quality yes, Nike is bottom tier. Brands like New Balamce have always quietly done their thing using the best possible materials. Adidas is a good brand also maybe mid tier, again in terms of quality and materials.

  78. anime_lean Avatar

aj1s are goated skate shoes and superstars are unfortunately illegal civ coded

  79. stacksyerrr Avatar

For basketball sneakers, Nike > Adidas

  80. goonyen Avatar

there is absolutely no way adidas is better… maybe if you’re broke

  81. ExpensiveOccasion542 Avatar

Screw both of them. Neither of them makes a decent wide shoe. I stick to New Balance or Sketchers.

  82. Reasonable_Cow_9567 Avatar

They both use slave labor to make their products.

  83. CarebearKempers Avatar

Couldn’t agree more. I g haven’t bought Nike in a decade. Whole household is adidas and sometimes UA. Nike is a trash company with trash quality.

  84. Jake3232323 Avatar

And Puma is better than both. Ultraweave and Dry Cell are fantastic designs and their shoes are very comfortable.

  85. stanger828 Avatar

I don’t buy full priced overpriced stuff, BUT if i can get the apparel on really steep sale I do because their stuff is really comfortable. Idk, extra threads or something, you can literally feel it is better quality and the clothes last longer. It’s much more comfortable than competitor offerings in my opinion and i dont know why exactly. I don’t give a shit about brand logos or representing etc. I actually would prefer not to be a billboard and have no branding on my clothes but just from a comfort stance, nike stuff feels great compared to others.

  86. parmer9wst Avatar

They both make 100s or 1000s of models at various price points. Some are good and some are bad. Both are getting worse in quality though.

  87. Sillylittletitties Avatar

Me personally, I’m a Nike guy.

  88. AdFabulous3959 Avatar

How do you pronounce Adidas? “A-Dee-Dahs” or “Ah-Dee-Dah”

  89. TBoneTheOriginal Avatar

I bought $50 Adidas for my son and they fell apart in a couple months. His $60 Nikes didn’t. His $120 On shoes last a year.

What’s your point? You get what you pay for. I’m Adidas has $100+ models too that aren’t shit.

  90. Fluffy-Coat7281 Avatar

i could easily say the same for both brands though ? both use their big brand names to sell items for way more than it costs to make. i have some things from nike i hate and others i love, and vice versa. neither brand has consistent quality

  91. New_Perception_7838 Avatar

Many Adidas models are not great for wide feet.

  92. Bolognahole_Vers2 Avatar

    > Their sneakers feel amazing on your feet

I’ve got a pair of Adidas and a pair of Nike runners. The Nike are way more comfortable.

Other than that, IDGAF about brand affiliation. Every brand has some good stuff and some bad stuff.

  93. ComradeWeebelo Avatar

Have owned multiple pairs of both.

They both suck and sell shoes on hype, not actual fit or comfort.

Their shoes are designed for humans that are living in the 19th century, when it’s the 21st century.

There are much better manufacturers available if you look for them.

The difference in comfort when wearing a properly built shoe for modern humans versus the antiquated trash Nike and Adidas produce is night and day.

  94. twinklingblueeyes Avatar

Hoka and Brooks for me. But I also have a lot of titanium in my foot…

  95. KID_THUNDAH Avatar

Adidas is more iconic to me personally, especially the tracksuits

  96. schweissack Avatar

I literally can’t buy adidas in my size (13) I either have to take out the sole on the inside or go a full or half size bigger. Makes it impossible to order online. Nike if I order a 13 I know it’s gonna fit my foot. These European brands just are too small. Trust me I mostly only wore Nike too when I grew up in Germany, adidas & puma were just issue after issue

  97. no_clever_name_yet Avatar

I’m wearing a pair of Tretorn’s I got at Costco for $6.97. I buy whatever.

  98. 10ballplaya Avatar

I’d argue they all come from the same factory that makes off brand sneakers and those are equally good in quality for a fraction of the price, fuck brands, especially for clothing.
