Adults sleeping with a stuffed animal shouldn’t be “taboo” or “weird”.

r/

I have a weighted stuffed animal and I physically feel more rested when I sleep with it. I think it’s more so the weight, but there’s also comfort in wrapping your arms around something. Hell, I know a lot of people cuddle pillows and that’s essentially the same thing. Kids do it for a reason, and it shouldn’t be embarrassing if adults do, too.

I agree, my stuffed animals are practically real to me, especially since I’ve never had a pet before.
    And they’re just comforting.

Grew up sleeping with about 10-15 stuffed animals. I don’t think I’ve ever been as cozy at night since.

People give me the same flak for my anime body pillows; I get you lmao

I feel naked without my live cat sleeping with me so I get this.

If they can’t pry my Snorlax out of my cold, dead hands it’ll just have to be cremated too.

I have a tiger named Hobbes (not official, just a webkinz) and a Daffy Duck plush

I’m thinking about getting one. I want something to hold at night.

Yeah and I should be able to sleep with my body pillow shaped like an Asian school girl! Right guys?!

It shouldn’t be looked down upon.

But I will say, it’s very important part of emotional development for a child to learn to sleep without a stuffed animal or pet in the bed with them. There’s nothing wrong with returning to it later though.

250lb shaved head Hispanic dude here. I’d have girls over to my place and there’d always been this funny awkward moment about my unicorn body pillow stuffed animal on my bed and that’s what I would cuddle after sex instead of them. My fiance moved it from the room now though 😢🦄

    Im in my 40s btw

I have a plush penguin named Quinn the Eskimo (after the Manfred Mann song) and I can’t sleep right without him.

    It’s not taboo or weird.

It’s taboo or weird for them to act like a child instead of an adult and have to have one because they act like a child instead of an adult

I started sleeping with a big stuffed Eeyore last year after we had to put my cat down. He used to sleep in my arms like a stuffy so when he was gone I literally just could not sleep. My husband found a box that had all my old stuffies in it and Eeyore has been my pillow ever since. Im turning 38 in June. I pack it when I travel.

If it’s taboo or weird, so be it. It’s the best pillow I’ve ever had and it brought me comfort when my heart was shattered.

I have a Jack Skellington Squishmallow that I hug and it helps with my posture while I sleep.

My aunt gifted my mom (a longtime sloth-lover) a weighted stuffed sloth pillow thing a few months before cancer took her. Its stomach has a zipper that contains a microwaveable heatpack. She absolutely loved the thing and it was amazing how much it helped her sleep with the amount of pain and discomfort she was in. Its been in my (38M) bed since. My headboard has the rest of the sloth family that was built over the years.

Like a blow up doll, but fuzzy.

I pulled out my childhood teddy bear when I was sick with Covid, and it was comforting as hell. It made me wonder why I ever stopped.

With as many things there are that we must do although they stress us out and make us unhappy anything that doesn’t hurt others and makes you happy should be acceptable.

If you sleep better with a stuffed otter at age 50 then my man you have my blessings.

I have a big stuffed dog, it’s my baby, haha. I’ve had it since I was 10, and I need it so I can sleep alone. When I don’t have it, I feel really uncomfortable.

  22. tsukuyomidreams Avatar

I use them as pillows. They’re perfect for behind the back, between the knees, folded under an arm or the legs for slight neck support. I’m laying on two right now.

All that being said, I’m embarrassed by them and try to hide them, and apologize for them being here on video chat. Feels bad.

I went out and bought a squishmallow! My shoulders have been much happier ever since! They’re absolutely perfect for upper back and shoulder support in bed!
