I’ve posted very often in here about my job and questions people have had. I’m cleaning my personal office out now and keep taking breaks in between, so would like to answer things on down time out of boredom. Essentially the field is draining, I’ve done some personal exploration and want to go back to some older roots.
After nearly 5 years of being a substance abuse counselor, I’m closing the curtain and switching out of the field, AMA!

What field are you going to switch to?
If you had to choose between going vegan for a year or going carnivore for a year which would you choose and why?
Thank you for the important work you’ve done. Is it high-stress and emotionally draining? I don’t think many people last more than 5 years
I know substance abuse can be extremely difficult to work with. Have you considered other counseling positions or is it just a no go entirely? I saw in another comment that you’re going to work on a mill. Regardless, I hope whatever you end up doing going forward is something that’s sustainable for you.
What have you observed about human behavior from your job?
What did you learn about yourself in these five years?
