I (27M) left a work party early because I ate pizza rolls that weren’t mine. Last Thursday the Buffalo Bills played the Miami Dolphins. I’m a huge Bills fan as are some of my colleagues from work. Seeing how bad the Dolphins are this season, we all thought this game was a free win and set up a party after work to watch the game. My friend from work, I’ll call him Jimmy, hosted the party and set up food, drinks and snacks for everyone who attended. During the first quarter, I made my way to the snack table and my eyes locked on to a plate with 20/25 pizza rolls. I took a couple and started eating when one of my other colleagues asked where I had gotten them. I showed him and a few more stragglers joined us in devouring the whole plate, I mean come on they’re pizza rolls. Not more than a minute passes after we finish eating and Jimmy’s son, an 11 year old boy, emerges from the darkness of a dimly lit staircase. Once he sees the empty plate, he begins to whine and ask where his pizza rolls went. Apparently the plate of pizza rolls wasn’t for the party but was the kids dinner. All the coworkers who helped pointed me out and said I brought them from home. I never said that! I offered to buy more or make the little guy something else and they said no. I left the party early and finished the game at my place. So AITA?

OP has offered the following explanation for why they think they might be the asshole:
> I ate pizza rolls at a football party that were a child’s dinner. I offered to make more or buy other food. What could i have done differently? AITA?

NTA. Who puts an entire plate of pizza rolls out at a post-football-party and then gets upset when they get eaten? This is nuts. Also, there’s no way the kid could’ve eaten all of them.
NTA. Why would they put one person’s food by food for the group? Anyone would make that assumption.
NTA: Were they with the rest of the shared food or separate?
Edit: They were in the same general area as the rest of the food and nothing was said to tell people that they were off limits. This is on the host for failing to communicate.
NTA
Seriously who in their right mind puts out someone’s DINNER on a shared table of food and then gets cross when it gets eaten? And also seriously what 11 year old eats 25 pizza rolls? This whole thing is ridiculous. And you are definitely not TA.
NTA. Why were they with the party food if they weren’t for the party? The host should have told people not to eat those and kept them in the kitchen. Also, what kid needs 25 pizza rolls for supper?
NTA. Just why did the kid leave the pizza rolls there? Also why would you say you were kicked out of a work party when you just left?
YTA- you were a guest, the host did not mention the snacks were ready. You should’ve waited or asked.
I’ve been to parties where they made pizzas in the oven for the kids, who ate separately. That being said, they immediately took the pizzas out of the oven and gave them directly to the kids. Whomever organized this party messed up. You didn’t do anything wrong and you also offered to replace the dinner. NTA.
This is just to say
I have eaten
the pizza rolls
that were in
the icebox
and which
you were probably
saving
for your son’s dinner
Forgive me
they were delicious
so savory
and so warm
If you just left of your own accord, then NAH. If you were asked to leave because of the incident, then the host was an asshole.
Your son’s dinner is sitting on the snack table, not the kitchen or dining table by itself looking just like a snack would, and you’re pissed off someone ate them… off the snack table… a very common item used for snacks at this type of party…. 😏
NTA – But this is hilarious. The host should have told people those were for his picky kid.
Suddenly and without warning….
An 11 year old boy emerges from the darkness of a dimly lit staircase
This is gold. You are a poet. And NO of course you are NTA!
NTA Kind of funny though.
NAH
Mistakes were made. Miscommunication happened.
NAH, because how were you supposed to know that the olat in the middle of all the other snacks weren’t for everyone. But also get out of your head. There was no reason to leave
YTA. During 1st Quarter of a game y’all just stood around and ate 20 pizza rolls in under a minute? I dunno, I think some self-reflection is due here.
Nta, if it’s the kids dinner, why was it on the snack table?
Also not cool of your coworkers throwing you under the buss like that. It was a honest mistake.

NTA. Hopefully the kid learned a lesson about leaving his food unattended at the snack table during a party. This is something that Jimmy should have taught his son ahead of time so that he wouldn’t have to pick the lesson up the hard way. It’s completely reasonable to consider a plateful of food left at the snack table fair game during a party.
NTA but you are a lovely person, clearly. Some people wouldn’t even worry about it.
I’m sorry you’ve had any anxiety about this incident.
NTA but those colleagues sure are. Are they grown ups or also 11 years old blaming their friend so they dont have to get scolded by mummy!
Why would they put the kids dinner on the snack table and WTF was a kid doing eating 20-25 pizza rolls for dinner? You tried to offer a solution and they didn’t take it. NTA bet that kid just wanted pizza rolls and didn’t come out when he was told and by the time he did bother people had eaten what he wanted.
NTA.
If the plate was specifically for the kid, it shouldn’t have been on the table with all of the shared food. Or someone should have said something.
NTA
The people who blamed you and lied are the main AHs. The kid’s dad is also an AH for putting the kid’s food on the party snack table.
That was a lot of pizza rolls for one kid, if you ask me.
Those lying coworkers owe you an apology.
NTA. You had no way of knowing. Maybe if the parent had been doing their actual job, instead of trying to be one of the guys glued to the TV, that wouldn’t have happened.
I was against you at first. But…
NTA (but who is?)
You had no way of knowing if the pizza rolls were for the group or for an individual because of where it was. I’m not going to blame the kid; he is, after all, 11. But maybe the host for not educating the boy where to put his pizza rolls (or for placing the pizza rolls at the party table).
NTA and the amount of people who feed their child two boxes of pizza rolls for dinner make me doubt the validity of anyone’s judgment here.
NTA. GO BILLS!!!
Nta they should not have put food.not for the party with food for the party if they did not want party guests eating it
Especially something like pizza rolls as they make great party food.
INFO: If they were on the snack table with all the other snacks, why did you have to show people where you got them?
Also, all you say is that you made your way to the snack table and locked eyes with this plate. So WAS the plate on the snack table, or did you just see the plate while you were at the table?
