AITA Long Story moved in with friends and then moved out after 9 days.

r/

So my friend drove 2k miles to pick me up from a situation i was in. Long story short I show up to his house and walk in, putrid smell as soon as you opened the door. 4 piles of cat vomit that have been there for weeks by his own admission. I told him I’d cook and clean and his roommate said she’d feel bad if i was the only one working and cleaning and doing everything. But that’s the first thing i did when i got there, was clean all of the cat vomit up, sweep, mop, do the dishes, organize the fridge, clean the roommates office space. Clean the living room, bathroom. The bathroom had because they smoke dabs, dab residue all over inside the toilet, bathroom sink, and the kitchen sink but not as bad because it was further away from the bathroom. Which i had to sit there and scrub all of it to get it out and it took a minute. Meanwhile they just watched me clean instead of helping or doing anything. Which if it was my house i’d help the person out cleaning my mess, they wouldn’t have to however because i’m a clean person. Just saying however if they did, i’d immediately help them out and or tell them i’d do it, even if they lived with me unless it’s their mess. For 9 days cleaning up after pretty much adult children, even IF i had a job and payed my way i’d still have to do all of that, because i can’t live in filth. I also cooked dinners and did the dishes after everyone ate. Vacuumed literally did it all. Then after the 9 days i decided i wanted to go back home, they told me i spit in their faces and wasn’t thinking about the one roommates feelings because i wanted to leave. Granted i told them 2hrs prior to me leaving, i don’t see anything wrong with that. Everything was clean, I reorganized everything including the fridge and cleaned it. I have some friends telling me that i’m trying to justify the ride he took to get me, because it was roughly 300$ and on autopilot in an electric car, then the ride home i got family to pick me up.

OP has offered the following explanation for why they think they might be the asshole:

    > Because people are telling me that I’m trying to justify the cost of the ride and being delusional about it all, and that it was paying my way. So feels like they are telling me i’m an asshole in some capacity. As well as the friends told me i spit in their faces, as well as calling me a coward and so much more.

INFO: Where’s the actual dispute? You chose to leave, they made a rude comment, and that’s it. Hurt feelings alone don’t make anyone the AH.

NTA, they’re simply mad that their free maid is leaving.

I can certainly see why you wouldn’t want to live in these conditions. Sounds awful. nta
