My late fiance always said that the song Strawberry Wine was the perfect song that reminded her about our relationship because it reminded her of us getting together when we were teenagers, but then she moved to LA and we ended up getting back together in our late 30s. She passed from complications with COVID. Her parents included it in the playlist at her funeral and I cried more than I have ever cried before. I always listen to it on the anniversary of her passing.
My college girlfriend at the time of the Breakfast Club would bring up the Simple Minds song, "Don’t You," because she was afraid we’d go our separate ways and never see each other again.
A couple of years later, we broke up after Dirty Dancing came out. "(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life" always puts me in a melancholy mood.
I have songs that remind me of memories, but in this example it also reminds me of an ex.
This particular one assaulted me and I listened to the songs Bags by clario and manta rays by Chloe moriondo. The songs aren’t super sad but they are to me based on the memories attached.
There’s also other songs connected to exes through using them to make me cry my feelings out.
Boyfriend #1 – “Time After Time” by Cindy Lauper
Boyfriend #2 – “Girls” by the Beastie Boys
Boyfriend #3 – “Bring on the Dancing Horses by Echo and the Bunnymen
“We found love in a hopeless place.” Back then it meant Phoenix Arizona. It still is, but really it was her incredibly black heart which ended up winning in the end.
Box of Bones – Third Eye Blind
Really tumultuous time of my life, love the song but it hurts to hear. Honestly the whole Bande Apart album was on repeat during the time.
She sent me Until I Found You by Stephen Sanchez because she came out of a bad relationship (that’s atleast what she told me) and then after years of online friendship had "that" click. And it just happened.
I sent her the song Angels Fall Sometimes by Josh Turner, because i had given up on dating because of a few reasons, but the biggest one was that i was afraid that people might judge me for my past (t turned in to an internet meme and people come up to me and ask for pics) yet here she was. After years, not only being mine. But i also kept thinking "what in the world does she want to do with someone like me" ?
After she broke up with me and went to the guy who was "just an online friend" (right, just like i was) and we had a ton of discussion about before she broke up. I couldn’t listen to those songs for a loooonnnnngg time.
There were several. I’ve been able to mostly strip those from thoughts of her by recotextualizing them. One I’ve failed to do so with is Imperfect by Stone Sour. Unfortunately, that track still makes me feel a bit off.
More recently, I’ve found Lorna Shore’s Pain Remains (at least the three titular tracks at the end of that album). Same person. They remind me most of how I felt after that relationship ended.

I have songs that remind me of time periods in my life
I guess I’m an anomaly then
Bold of you to assume most of us have an ex.
First of all,
How dare
You?

She absolutely ruined maneater for me… guess I should have taken that as a sign
Suavemente, Elvis Crespo
Yes but it’s Living Dead Girl.
(she’s alive, I would like to note, to the best of my knowledge)
DUDE IM LISTENING TO IT RN
I never listened to Eminem before, he liked Eminem, Eminem is that artist
Only If you have an ex…
I have an entire album I can’t listen to without thinking about her (not really an ex, just someone I don’t talk to anymore)
Yep I could make a whole playlist of them.
First ex; Thumbs by Sabrina Carpenter
Second ex; Killing In The Name, Rage Against the Machine, Sugar Rush, Pixl, and Virtually Impossible by Context Sensitive
I think the most insulting thing about it is that the last three are on my playlist.
No i don’t lol i couldn’t care less
First girlfriend, Silent all these years, Tori Amos
And I’m not supposed to act like it because it messes with other people’s enjoyment
I’m surprised that so many would have this thought. There are no songs that I attach to any ex, ever, and only a few to my wife of 20+ years.
What if I have multiple songs that remind me of multiple ex’s?
Camila Cabello – Havana
Her alarm song, so goddamn annoying, she always slept through it and it woke me up constantly.
Which one? Almost that sucks.
I heard it today actually. It’s “Bed- J.Holiday”
I have three exes and I never listened to music with one of them
Almost everybody has a song that reminds them of their dog
And if you remind me of my dog we’re bound to get along
Little doggie, get along little doggie
One quarter of the world population is between the ages of 0 and 14 and likely does not have an ex. What.

Brilliant Disguise, Bruce Springsteen
Not everyone has ex though
Boyfriend #1 – “Time After Time” by Cindy Lauper
Boyfriend #2 – “Girls” by the Beastie Boys
Boyfriend #3 – “Bring on the Dancing Horses by Echo and the Bunnymen
I have an ex that reminds me of a song.
Thar implies that almost everyone has had and lost a gf to begin with.
And for half of the population that song is "Someone that I used to know" by Gotye.
Most of the important people in my life have “their song”
Pretty much any song from the Arctic Monkeys.
Lmao I wish it was just one song.
Itty bitty teeny weeny…..
So very true.
Hate it. Trying to forget her, but then a song comes on.
And they think of me whenever Short Dick Man comes on
“We found love in a hopeless place.” Back then it meant Phoenix Arizona. It still is, but really it was her incredibly black heart which ended up winning in the end.

And If You Love Her – Forest Blakk
I have two.
She sent me Until I Found You by Stephen Sanchez because she came out of a bad relationship (that’s atleast what she told me) and then after years of online friendship had "that" click. And it just happened.

Try this one Evidence
