Am I considered bad for thinking I secretly enjoy when group projects fall apart without me?

r/

Like obviously, I don’t sabotage anything. But when people ignore my input, make bad decisions, and the whole thing collapses, there’s a small evil voice inside me that’s like: “Good. You deserve this.”

I still do my part, but if everyone else decides to tank it? Not my circus. Not my grade.

Is that awful? Or are we all just pretending we don’t get a tiny bit of satisfaction watching chaos unfold without us?

I think there is a little joy in the “I told you so”. Does it make us great people? Probably not. But I think those feelings are only human. It’s what you do with those feelings that defines who you are.

Depends. Some things I hope succeed even if I’m not involved.

I wouldn’t say I enjoy it, unless the multiple attempts I make to help someone who isn’t pulling their weight is met with resistance or apathy. That’s the point where I say, fuck it, let nature take its course.

Yes, if you find pleasure in the misfortune of others, you’re a bad person.

i’d say you’re being selfish and lacking empathy. regardless of your input, don’t you want people to do well?

it’s like the difference bewteen wanting to be right in a conversation vs. wanting to discover the truth and the best solution.

It depends. If youre playing mario party, yeah its fine. If you are a soldier in the trenches then its not cool

You’re the definition of a toxic teammate and that mentality will bleed into your work relationships if you aren’t careful.

That you enjoy seeing people fail if they dont do what you want is a red flag.

Communication is difficult, but if that’s the way you feel, I would guess you are not making a genuine effort to communicats across differences. Possibly even passive aggressive.

If people are incompetent it can be frustrating to work with them, but when you are part of a group, you will inevitably have to compromise for the greater good. Sometimes thats finding how you can be supportive of someone else’s approach.

    No, you aren’t.

People learn what to do and what not to do from failure and punishment. So if they should’ve listened but didn’t and failed, that’s on them.

    Are you bad? No.

Not unless you set them up to fail.

And anyway, you probably had to clean up the mess.

The ones that piss me off was when my input was ignored, and then I was expected to fix it.

    No, you’re not bad

There are thoughts that come to all of us that are questionable.

It’s alright. Just learn to, Zen-like, let them pass without dwelling on them.

OTOH, it IS a delicious moment to observe the mess, look down at your fingernails, and say, “that’s a shame”.
