Am I (F19) actually in love with a guy (M23) who I haven’t seen in over a year?

r/

Hi everone,

Some background. I (f19), met someone when i was 17 and he was 21. I fell head over heels, but i think he just saw me as a kid sister. We met at college. We both since graduated, and i have not seen him in over a year. We are connected on social media, but have not had any actual interaction.

However, thoughts of him still consume me. Like whenever i daydream of my future, he’s in it. And there have been other guys that I have liked since then, but never as seriously as I liked the original guy. Even though it’s been over a year, thoughts of him still give me butterflies, and i always daydream about bumping into him in public.

Am I actually in love, or is this some sort of weird delusional crush?

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get over him?

TL:DR: I am still in love with a guy who I haven’t seen in over a year, and want advice as to how to get over him.

You’re likely in love with the idea of him, rather than actually being in love with him.

If you haven’t interacted in over a year, well, you don’t know him enough to love him.

Bottom line is that you’re not in love.

It’s most likely infatuation. Enjoy with caution.

People can change for one year. Remember that, focus on yourself. If destiny wants you to be together he will come to your life. Until then focus on you.
