We have been a Nielsen household for about 1 year. I just recently canceled our service, the reason being because they have to come visit the home twice a year or more to check the equipment, and that got to be kind of a hassle, with the equipment being in my daughter’s room and our barking dog.
AMA about being a Nielsen household. I canceled the service recently.

What were the benefits that they provided?
Did you still have to pay the bills for everything you watched or was that free to you?
I do something similar in Canada but they never come to my house, that would be a big turn off. They phone every now and then, sometimes I take the call, other times not – it’s almost always when I am working and not at a good time.
Not much money but we give it all to the kids so they have a bit of income, they are 8 and 10 and don’t need much. We get monthly checks per person that range from $8-12 per month. Interesting to hear some of the differences from your participation.
Do you have any insight into if the Pope was killed by demons?
We did it too but I only lasted about 6 months. They tried to hide the equipment behind the tv but it was a lot of cords that inevitably stuck out. Plus if you had to unplug something they’d need to schedule to come back and check it. Big pain in the butt, especially for my husband that is always moving the Switch or PS5 around.
Thinking about a story I heard about a guy who thought all Nielsen families actually had the last name Nielsen, lmao.
How did you get started with being a Nielsen family, what motivated you to do it?
