I see a lot of misconceptions about my religion. I just wanted to clear any of them up!

How difficult is it to find halal meat where you live? Do you only eat halal certified meat, or do you just avoid pork?

Do you believe violence is acceptable? If so, under what circumstances?

What are your personal views toward Christians, Jews, Sikhs, Hindus, and other religions?

Do you think your views on these represent the views of many others in your religion.

Tone can often be difficult to tell through text. I am asking in all sincerity to grow my perspective. I’m from the SE of the U.S. btw, however am far more open minded than the stereotype from my region.

    1. Do you ever feel pressure to accept things as “God’s will” when they might just be human injustice?

    2. How do you stay grounded in your faith while also being critical of what’s wrong around you?

    3. If Islam truly protects women, why do so many women have to be emotionally strong, while the men hide behind religion and never grow the hell up?

    4. Why does the community rush to protect a man’s reputation, but not a woman’s reality? Especially when she speaks out?

    5. If Islam is perfect and the people are the problem, why does the system still protect the abusers and shame the survivors?

    🤔

Oh, I have another question. How much do you read hadiths compared to the Quran? Do you have a collection of hadiths in a physical book? I kind of get how they go together, and I’ve read the Quran and some hadiths. I just don’t know how practicing Muslims go about reading them regularly.
