Analysis Paralysis – Can’t Start A Project, Will It Matter? Will It Be Used?

r/

I’ve been sitting on a project, procrastinating, trying to figure out the perfect angle to go about it. It’s analyzing sales metrics for teams, but I don’t want to do it the way the rest of the teams been going about the assessment because I’ve gotten feedback stating it’s not useful and it seems sales teams don’t care about it.

I want them to care, I want to show something impressive.

But I’m stuck in a spiral of wondering if it’s useful.

Thoughts?

In the words of Shia Labeouf, “JUST DO IT!”

As soon as you actually get started you’ll know instantly whether or not it’s stupid / worth your time. But right now you’re stuck in the “should I / shouldn’t I” phase.

Look at the people or businesses the sales work on and also which employees get more sales. Figure out each side’s unique qualities and try to attest them to more or less sales.

    Probably not. Probably not.

You won’t improve unless you do and you learn.

It doesn’t matter if it matters or will be used. You’re getting paid to do the project, so do the project. How they use the result is not your problem. If they give you feedback, you can incorporate it later.
