any other devs ever worried about side projects getting them fired?

r/

i work full time as a developer. outside of work I’m building something in the SaaS space. not direct competition, different use case… but still, it’s software.

sometimes I get anxious about it. like, what if my boss finds out? could it get me fired? could there be legal consequences?
I’m not using company time or tools, and I started it fully outside of work… but the thought still lingers.

has anyone been through this? how real is the risk?

    What’s your legal question?

Also if you do have one try posting it on r/legaladviceeurope

As a manager I’ve fired a few people for their side projects.

My best advice is to get your manager’s permission.
