Any short built folks here? Help with finding clothing brands?

My young teen is fairly short and very sturdy. She has really broad shoulders and a stocky torso. She’s an athlete and a tomboy and pretty sensory too (so soft, light fabrics).

She recently had a growth spurt and is down to like 5 things that fit and are acceptably comfortable. Women’s cuts are too long if they are wide enough, and cut for more hips and waist than she has.

Sports wear is easier, although she generally ends up in boys cuts that are overly square, and again, women’s cuts tend to be off too. She doesn’t want to wear sports stuff all the time.

What mainstream stores offer a boxier cut for shorter people that still have room for bust etc. Am I looking for petite size? I am literally flat as a board and too tall for normal clothing so I have no idea where to shop for her.

Don’t even talk to me about uniforms… we had to buy stuff for high school and literally nothing in the catalog was proportionally correct. It was so frustrating. My only hope is that she shoots up another couple inches soon.

Honestly, Old Navy would be a go-to. They have lots of size options including some petite lengths and their jeans are very soft. They’re inexpensive enough to replace if she grows out of them. They have good basics like linen or cotton gauze tops that might fit her style and sensory needs while also being age appropriate (not automatically looking like a middle aged mom). They have some trendy styles like wide leg. Buy pants to fit her waist & hips and have them taken up, with enough extra retained that they can be let out again if she grows.
