Turned 32 recently and in the past year have gone from having only the occasional one annoying chin hair to over 80 (at the last count…) thick black chin hairs. I’m shaving everyday. I was not emotionally prepared for this. Also my pores now gets clogged and I get blackheads, which I never had even as a teenager. I feel like I’m going through a second puberty. Anyone else??

I’ve never known anyone to experience this. Did you talk to your doctor? Maybe a hormonal thing. It isn’t a common to say “im over 30 now I have a beard”
Have you changed vitamins or facial lotion, cleaner or makeup? Anything you can think of that’s different now?
I have this too. I suspected pcos but that’s not it. It’s a mystery here too!
Also 32 and I started noticing the increase around the same time I switched to an iud from oral birth control pill. Also struggling with them always getting ingrown and making a mess trying to pop them…
I have no idea if this actually makes sense, but theory has been that since the iud keeps the estrogen localized rather than flowing throughout your body that I no longer get the skin benefits from the pill.
Yes! I noticed a ton more chin hair growth. In my case it’s genetic and will follow my mother’s example and invest in electrolysis since she swears by it
Why are you complaining? It gives you something to do. Forget boredom. Now you can spend hours plucking tiny chin hairs.
All seriousness, sorry you are experiencing this. You may want to consider waxing over shaving as a short term solution while you explore this issue with a doctor. Waxing removes hair by the root taking longer to return. Sometimes pores can minimize with repeated waxing over years.
I got electrolysis. It took a year but it worked. I was destroying my face plucking and now my face looks better than ever.
Not when I hit 30 but I have an insanely hairy face. Longgg peach fuzz but not much of a fuzz it’s quite thick and black. Short of a beard. I tested many times since I was a teenager and never was anything found. No one has seen PCOS so far either. Some people are just hairy.
Do check your supplements and skincare products if it is new suddenly and do an ultrasound on your ovaries. If nothing it might be worth a brain MRI to check the pituitary gland.
I have about 12 chin hairs that I pluck at least once a week. They’re coarse and dark.
I’m getting little chin hairs , nipple hairs , just hair!
