So tired of seeing these memes on Reddit. It’s not funny. In both WWI and WWII, plenty of women either actively enlisted or worked as nurses close to the front lines. I have a lot of female friends who I bet are feisty and patriotic enough to actually enlist if any war hits. Some were even in the army.
But also, the more people try to get out of being drafted (both men AND women), the quicker the ruling elite will understand we actually don’t want anything to do with their bullshit shenanigans and don’t see a point in killing each other, destroying the environment and risking a nuclear winter.

War is different than it used to be.

Men’s rights, human rights, would be to oppose conscription as it’s codified in the USA. Full stop. Vast majority of women I know oppose conscription. Full stop.
When they start comparing the risk of conscription to the risk of sexual violence, intimate partner violence, or loss of access to medical care… it’s just plain insanity. Whose body and autonomy is actually at greater risk from their government right now? It is really the adult man with birthright citizenship?
And if they are conscripted tomorrow I will do the same thing my great grandma and aunties did: I’ll help draft dodgers. Will they donated five bucks to planned parenthood today? Will they even commit to voting for candidates that are committed to pro-choice legislation? Doubt it.

Based on what I have seen in other countries engaging in modern war its nonsense. Women in Ukraine have joined the military and quite successfully as well.
These assholes just hate women, and they’re not interested in hiding their misogyny anymore. Even the late Queen Elizabeth II joined the military when she turned 18 years old and served as a driver and mechanic. I’m still waiting for just one member of the Trump family to serve in the military.

My son is a Marine. At his company graduation, they had a female platoon. Probably 100 women. I thought it was pretty cool. My husband served a long time ago, before women were allowed in combat, so he didn’t graduate with any women.
